We have both our Internet and cable through Direcway, and it's great. It only sucks when it's raining.. heheh.

espite what the techs and service reps tell you, neither Direct TV nor Dish Network boxes really need a phone line except for pay-per-view. I've got a three room system and there's not a phone line hooked to any of the three boxes.
Yes... I did that for quite some time with my DirecTV, but now I'm wanting the HDTV DVR features and until early 2005 DirecTV will only support Tivo, which will only work with a phone line. When looking into that, I discovered that the Tivo HDTV DVRs cost around $999.00. With cable I won't have to buy the box - even without a contract. The Satelite companies want me to sign a contract before they will give me the box.

Technology is great, but I hate having to work around all of the little "gotcha's"
I've owned my HDTV for almost a year, and the only HD shows I've seen have been with my DVD player... which isn't really true HD.

Holly crap! I've spent YEARS trying to find a device like that and everyone I talked to said that it did not exist!
