Must the GB consist of anointed ones?

Although the exact nature of the control mechanism may not be obvious, I can't see how the governing body would hand over any of the real direction of the WTBTS corporations.

Correct, they did not hand it over -- it was forced from them. Some of the GB are not at all happy about what happened either.

And yes, articles could come out that the GB don't want. After all, the GB is no longer in legal charge, and they no longer control the magazines. All it takes is for a disagreement to arise, and the GB can be cut out of the picture the same way Rutherford cut out the directors way back when. Irony, to say the least.

    Hello Seeker:

If control was "forced from them" (and that could be the case), what was the exact nature of the "forcing"? Since we know that the governing body does not have a history of tolerance of theological dissent, it must have been on legal or business grounds.

Maybe some report from the legal department said: "Reorganize, or we will lose some or all of our tax exemption".

Or, maybe some report from the legal department said: "Reorganize, or we will be on the losing end of some very costly lawsuits".

Or, maybe some report from the legal department said: "Reorganize, or we will no longer be able to compartmentalize sensitive records and other information".

Or, maybe some report from the accounting department said: "Reorganize, for this will allow us much more flexibility in real estate investment and other money making ventures".

    Dearest Skimmer...

The answer is 'e. All of the above'... and perhaps even more.

    Peace to you!
