    Hey all,

Stumbled upon this site while looking for info on some very old friends. I was born a JW, left when I was 17 or so, and haven't looked back for the past seven years. But this site interests me. Just in the few short minutes I've spent browsing it, I've seen a lot of the same concerns that I myself had coming up in the fold. I hope I may be able to offer some prespective and perhaps gain some myself. I'm also curious to discover the extent to which JW doctrine has changed in the past few years.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to shamelessly plug my blog over at http://rightnation.us/blog/hudson. You can find out a lot about me from what I post there.

    Look forward to spirited discussion!

    Zal,

I read your commentary on your linked site, you write very well. I agree with a few things you wrote and disagree with a good majority of it, but as I said, it is written well. As it has been said many times on this board, (psychologically speaking) you can take the man out of the religion, but you can't take the religion out of the man. The Pay Pal tip jar was classic, it beats the hell out of an open guitar case at the bottom of the soap box.

As far as JW doctrine change, there hasn't been any, just a constant light house sized strobe flashing "new light" every time cult leaders wake up in a pool of sweat and whisper the words "oh shit" the Devil made us write the wrong stuff again.

Welcome to the board, have fun, don't quit your day job and don't take the smart asses here too seriously (me being one of them).

    Dave

Zal, your piece on Mary kay Latourneau is phenomenal. I don't think she should ever have been let out of prison, not to mention be a mother again.

    Welcome to the forum.!!!!!!!
