Does Being Around "Gay" People "Bother" You??
Only if they are really really hot.
Wait! Umm . . . what kind of "bother" were you talking about????
Just kidding. It does not bother me in the least. I do get a little bothered, or should I say, "annoyed" around really nelly, snotty, drama-queen type gay guys. They bug the hell out of me.

So you talk about the weather, eh? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. Bit of a "working" relationship with the "sandwich man", eh, catch my drift? A nudge is as good as a wink to a blind bat. Say no more Perly!!!
Look LT - you and me, proper blokes fight now! Outside on my lawn. (most holds barred).

This thread was an interesting read.
dh--I like your sense of how humans behave. I think that people who show disrespect for other's personal boundaries, are immature--that means I would not grab your ass.
dolphman--I like your theory.
LT--Are you going to put on your Spear and Magic Helmet (and kilt of course!) and sing "Kill da Wabbit"? Can I be the Wabbit?
Good night folks, see you in a few weeks...

I've read through this thread again and wanted to make one or two comments before it descends into complete fluff:
I'm not too keen on militant homosexuals either, but at the same time I have to recognize that it's been the militant actions of a minority that has resulted in the decriminalisation of homosexual acts and the increased acceptance of gay people as part of every day life. While gay rights have vastly improved in the West, there are still some areas of life in which gay people would like to see progress, and hence a militant section is required to continue.
Dolphman's description of accepting homosexuality but disliking 'flamers' reminded me of a conversation I had with a female friend after I had first gone to a gay club that had a lot of 'flamers'. I disliked being groped by strangers and feeling objectified and she said it sounded like her experience of some straight clubs, where men hit on her, made lascivious comments and (to paraphrase Dolphman) aggressively pursued pussy. I'm sure we all know heterosexuals that objectify the opposite sex, make obviously sexual remarks etc. Some people like this, others find it repellant.
As to effeminacy - masculinity/femininity are constructs that some people choose to ignore. If you find a butch woman or an effeminate man challenging, is it really about them or your world view?
LT - lead the way back to the fluff!

I must make an admission: I don't recall reading many of your posts before this thread, and I now feel as if I have missed out. It's always refreshing to me when I read someone's words that so accurately reflect my own feelings; and you do so much more succinctly than I ever could.
Thank you.. !

And aint that the bottom line!

Hey, who are you calling fluff?
Anyway, it aint my fault. They drove me to it, so they did
But if you insist...ElBlanko:

LOLDA:Are you heading off on vacation?
SP:You might want to do a trawl through the archives.
You've missed a lot, IMHO. -

No, it doesn't bother me usually. I often get a real kick out of many of them and seek them out, as at work. But that is only because I always enjoy characters and really kind, fun people, or amusing people, like anyone generally does!
There is so much variety among gay people just like there is with any other group. I don't care much for extremes of any kind, whether gay or straight.
