Getting your house JUST RIGHT....

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to sound out to all those out there that KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

When I bought my house a year ago, I still had the mortage to my other home.

So I was carrying two mortages until I sold my other place about 3 months ago.

So now that I don't have to care for two places, I've been able to work on my current home.

Anyway, I'm about 75 percent there, but my home is starting to come together.

This week, I'm putting in a wet bar in. And I got all the rooms EXACTLY like I want it.

My home theatre is kicking and the wet bar will complete my "cigar room," a place similar to a home library - but you can get wasted in it.

I guess my point is, it's a GREAT feeling to get your house (at least almost) to where you want it.

    Anyone else out there???

Sounds like it is time to sell and move on to your next project!

Yes! I know exactly what you mean! My new house isn't even built yet and I am already thinking about the changes I'll make to it so that it will be PERFECT.

    Else,

More than anything, I'm just amazed at how long it takes.

I'd like to stay here for awhile, but I think HALF the thing is the working on it.

Lowes and Home Depot are my favorite places now-a-days!!!

It sounds to me like you are feeling a great sense of accomplishment in this house.

Also, it probably feels really good to have the other house finally sold. More financial freedom now.

Also, it sounds to me that you probably have a super "Theatre System"...YEAH!!!

Rejoice in the fruits of your labour and step right on up to your wet bar and have a brewsky!

    ENJOY your new place!

When you get done, come help us!

We built our own house almost by ourselves with no contractor. It is almost finished, we need to tile the kitchen, part of the living room & do the ceiling to the kitchen/dining room area. Then on to the basement! It has been a learning experience, but very hard! Sometimes I think it will NEVER be done! But it is a satisfying feeling!

I am fixing my house now, too. I got my daughter's room fixed up so pretty, painted a sage green and my mom made a quilt for her double bed. She has white furniture.

I got my room painted and my bed spread, 2 bathroom done, one to do over again cuz I painted it a too bright green. Got the surround sound and canned lights done thanks to my ex, my daughter's father and he helped paint that kitchen and family room. Painters did the work in the dining, living and hall...........beautiful colors. My ex also hung some new pendants, now just need the new chandelier hung. He also put canned lights in my bathroom and got rid of those damn flourescents.

Getting a home equity for the granite in the kitchen and hardwood floors throughout the bottom floor.

It's fun but ohhhhhhhhh so expensive.

I was going to start a thread about just the opposite. Will it ever be just right? LOL I was vacuuming the other day and discovered dirty foot prints on the wall where my kids climb while pressing their backs against the armoire. The door jambs are dirty because my daughter climbs them with filthy feet. I have very little furniture in the living room because said children can't be trusted. I was thinking at six and eight I could probably safely buy furniture and not have it ruined. Then I discovered the eight year old had carved Kirby (a cartoon character) into the wood of my nice chair. Yesterday he was drawing at the coffee table and needed a darker line so he pressed so hard he carved grooves in it. We are not ready for new furniture...and I could paint once a month and it wouldn't be out of line.

I still find their names written in strategic places around the house....

Glad you guys have your houses fixed up nice...my day will come...I think...
