Did any of you ever write a letter to the WTS regarding an article, and it got published in the back of the Awake!?

Mostly, they only print letters that are in full agreement with their articles. But, were YOU 'J.G.' from Enland? 'D.S.' from United States? 'P.X.' from Japan?

Or, do you think those letters were a load of crap?

I wrote a letter once. I swore that someone committed a copyright no-no because I saw an ad in a newspaper about 'Condoms'. There was a photo in the ad of a woman riding a horse. Just so happened that the same EXACT photo was in the latest WT. I thought the condom ad was illegally using the WTS photo. Turns out that the WTS purchases the rights to USE many of the photos that you see in the WT's & Awake!'s.

Boy, did I feel stupid for believing (at that time) that EVERYTHING in the mags was created by the WTS.

Nope. I wouldn't expect that you would find anyone, either.

And most of the articles in the Awake are taken from the Readers Digest.

    Will,

I find Readers Digest far more interesting than Awake! magazines. Not much.... it would explain a lot, though.

I think they use the reader pointed out corrections as a way to look "humble". But you will notice in their replies they always gently correct the reader and show how their point of view could indeed be perceived as correct..

My wife, J.W., wrote the famous letter asking if it was okay for a Christian married couple to engage in oral sex. It was printed in Questions from Readers.

I wasn't informed she was writing it and when it caused such an enormous backlash I wished I had never been born.

I did write a note that was printed in the back pages in the " From Our Readers" one time.

and yes, it was some load of crap about how my young son had so appreciated the article on, "Toys that kids should not play with" or something.

    Terry,

That sounds like something my ex would do, the FB. Although she would do one better and tell everyone in the congregation she wrote it.

Wow, Terry! That's incredible! You mean, the words they printed were actually your wife's, so you are sure that it was actually her letter that caused the article (and not just a coincidence of timing)?

You know, that makes me think of a new game. Okay, everyone ready? First guy to get something published in the WT wins! On your marks, get set, go!

I had one, resulting in an article being printed, but I won't tell which, for fear of being tracked down. So you have to believe me at my words. Presently I am writing two questions I think they'll HAVE to respond to in some more formal way, for example thru an article or reply, but again ..... I won't be tracked ........
