xq's - who cares? - it's all BS anyway - next time you find yourself contemplating this thought change your mind to something like the sexual fantasy channel - a much more productive use of your time and talent.

I'll never forget how surprized I was about 8 years ago to read in a WT (amazing how they slip in one liners or paragraphs in the WT that contain doctrinal adjusting, barely noticeable..sly bastards) that we do not know how much merit Jehovah will place on community service and living a good life. I remember feeling relieved bec I had been taught that any nonJW would be destroyed, but I did not give it too much thought bec "we don't need to worry about those kinds of things."

I also remember some "new light" on the sheep and the goats. How we are not to call ppl goats anymore because we are not the judges of them, Jesus is, and we can't see into their hearts like he can. No more 'pre-judging.'

It is like the organization can't even bring themselves to overtly state what they REALLY teach because to do so would be so horrible and revealing, so they skirt around EVERY SINGLE issue. You will never get a straight answer about anything from them.

What they tell outsiders: Only God knows who will survive.

The real truth: God knows that only very active JWs will survive.

Runningman ,that is exactly what they are told to say ,knowing it is a lie. My JW husband tells me this often but he forgets i was once brainwashed as he is ,so i know the real answer.Only JWs will live.

The flaw in your dear mom's argument, Dire, is that JWs would save more lives by NOT preaching to anyone, since these latter can then truthfully claim to never have been given the chance to ``learn the truth."

THat's SUCH a good point!! Those lucky bastards in 3rd world countries!!

I was thinking that was a really good point too. Time to start working that into arguments just to see the gobsmacked look.

Agreed. But I'm one of the lucky ones. I don't need to feel bad about it because my mom told me that in the New System, she and the rest of the family won't even remember that I ever existed. You know, because Jehovah's a loving god and wouldn't want his people to be sad.

I remember going door-to-door and looking people in the eye and lying: "No! We don't believe that everyone who is not a JW will be killed at Armageddon! It is not our job to judge... that is what Jebus will do!"

What I would fail to tell the person is that JWs believe that Jebus will judge harshly everyone who is not a JW... basically I skirted around the truth.
