Probably trying to keep up with sites like http://bible.gospelcom.net/ that have been doing the same for years. Gotta mislead as much of the public into believing they have a legitimate translation as they can.

Do you, or does anyone else believe the WTBTS deliberately tries to mislead people in this way? Is it possible that they honestly and sincerely believe their own lies and dogma and are doing what they think is in the "kingdom best interests"?
I think they are desperate to try and make their Bible fit there doctrines instead of readjusting their beliefs to harmonize with simple Bible statements like:
One is your teacher, whereas all you are brothers.
You are not under law but under undeserved kindness.
All who are led by God's spirit, these are God's sons.
One body there is, and one spirit, even as you were called in the one hope to which you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and
Father of all persons, who is over all and through all and in all.
For as often as you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he arrives.
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus.
It does not belong to you to get knowledge of the times and seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction.37
37 Matthew 23:8; Romans 6:14; 8:14; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Corinthians 11:26; 1 Timothy 2:5; Acts 1:7.
Those plain statements (because they did not conform to the organizational "pattern" of interpretation) were/are depicted as distorted teachings giving evidence of "apostasy." How effed up are they to tell you, me or anyone that such basic and clear statements that contradict their teaching signify apostasy? But they do and they suck because of it.

Yes I'm sure there are a lot of people who honestly and sincerely believe all the lies. However it seems clear to me that the higher up you go the harder it is to believe they live in total innocence of what is truly going on. (Some do I'm sure, but not all)

I do also agree with that statement. I use to reason, however, that because of the weighty responsibilities of the GB, you had to sometimes get your hands dirty to accomplish the Worldwide Preaching Work as they say they are doing. I figured they must have to deal with all kinds of shady types to get things done and certain indescretions were forgivable and understandable. After reading Ray's book, Crisis of Conscience, I no longer believe that. They have done some pretty shitty things to some pretty good people to cover their lies and paranoia. I still imagine that their reasoning is such that allows them to act trecherously and rationalize it must be done to further "Kindom interests". They suck so much.

Theocratic Warfare I believe the term is. What will allow them to lie or gloss over things to unbelievers in order to make the organization look better. The same strategy they have no qualms about applying to their own families if they think it might further kingdom interest. The higher ups have used it for years and similarly they encourage it in their members. The members use it instinctively without regard to the bible principles regarding honesty they are breaking.

Corvin,
It is impossible to read your comments without feeling the bitterness and hate you must have, every one of those verses is true (even using NWT)...just because you now disagree with the applications and the settings, does not justify surely such untrue statements you feel have to be made against the society..
Hey - 'go and build an ark'...also true, doesn't apply to anyone else than Noah though. Just tell me where you have found the 'whole asscociation of brothers in the world' (Peter), and it will be easier to listen to you. geoff. gdt.

Gdt,
How did you ever manage to wander away from www.watchtower.org to participate in this NASTY..TRUTHFUL board.
I urge you to go back now before it is too late and you turn into a pillar of salt.

: It is impossible to read your comments without feeling the bitterness and hate you must have,
Would the same comment be less true if the one making it was bitter than if the one making it was not bitter. Arguments like that are typical stock-in-trade responses from dubs: when you can't defeat the argument, personally attack the one making it. That may work in your little world, but it doesn't cut it in here. We're way to smart for such silly tactics.
: every one of those verses is true (even using NWT)...
Prove it.
: just because you now disagree with the applications and the settings, does not justify surely such untrue statements you feel have to be made against the society..
That is another lame dub argument. Claim something isn't true, but don't explain why.
If you cannot defend your religion any better than that, then you'd better step back and ask yourself "why not?"
