Witnesses are out to the assemblies in June. Compare to the same month a year ago, they are up by 1% and up 7% in pioneers.

Didn't I say it was the standard excuse?

What about witnessing to the gas station attendants, the maids, the manager, the wait staff, the people they meet at the restaurant and outside on the sidewalk, at the laundromats, and the bus stops?

If a JW were auxiliary pioneering that month, the convention would not be allowed as an excuse for missing their quota of 50 hours.

At the most they miss one Saturday of field service opportunity, about 2 hours, very easy to make up the rest of the 3 weeks.

It's an excuse; a reason to spend less time in field service because of the nice weather.

In the winter the reason is the weather is bad (even in Flordia/California); in February it is a short month; it's the school year and kids can't get out; the kids are out of school and can't get out.....

I just talked to a JW and he said the hours were way down in June and July despite the convention being in August. So I don't think that was the problem in this area.

Joker, the percentages are MEANINGLESS if they don't represent something REAL!

Anybody can write down anything they want! The Society demands NUMBERS from elder bodies and they

    get them.

The numbers are all horse hoggle anyway. I probrably counted 10-15 hrs a month for the last 10 years I was in the org. Thats roughly ummmm 1560 hrs. I also counted 4-6 mags thats 600 magazines, plus return visits, roughly 300, plus many many books that I would just toss in the trash maybe as many as 300 of those.

I was like a service hero I gave demo's and parts on the service meeting etc etc... funny that no one ever questioned why I was never out in service... I actually went out in service maybe 10-20 times max whats that twice a YEAR (and I think thats being generous) over the last 8-10 years and no one questioned it. When I did go out I made sure that I never went to a door where anyone was home. How did I get away with it? Basicly I'm a really really good salesman (read liar) and THEY DON'T REALLY WANT TO KNOW!! Would you if you were in their place?

You can't compare one month to the next. You need to compare each month to the same month last year. Some months (like April) are the subject of major pushes - pioneering, memorial, etc. In addition to that, you need to smooth the numbers over several months.

Don't take too much stock in a one month fluctuation. Wait for the annual report.

Even then, who cares? There are a billion Catholics. Does that make them righter, or wronger? JWs, regardless of quantity, are irrelevant.
