The good samaritan and apostacy.

There are so many examples of JW unkindness to Df'd ones and apostates. One that really jumps out is one I've heard about a single df'd mother with small kids broken down outside a kh, and no one stopped to help her.

The jews and samaritans came from the same background. They had several different beliefs and the Jews no doubt considered them apostate. Which is why the parable of the good samaritan is so telling. They don't bring up this point in their literature. The samaritans were APOSTATES!!!

And yet, an apostate helped a jew. And Jesus blessed this action. What does this say about the JW's?

It's also fascinating that they, the samaritans are used in other examples. Such as the woman at the well.

And in john, i believe, it says that many Samaritans believed in him. What does this say for the JW's and their arrogant policies?

Very sad indeed that they would help criminals.Drug addicts/dealers. Cover for the pedophile in the midst of them .love them there neighbors."brothers".....but not help this woman in need that at one time was considered in the "middle" of the congregation we can be sure. Where exactly is the love in this? This conditional love that is so un-loving and un-kind.

Good thoughts for me Avishai.I have endured seeing folks go through such treatment and was part of my un-doing with the wts.

it says a lot, they are so very hypocritical and they don't even realise it, i hope they are judged by their own measure.

Sickly enough if it was a complete stranger they probably would have gone to help to set an example.

Usually only to set an example. I've noticed people being 'marked from the platform for being too charitable. And that was just to people in the congregation. Taking sick people chicken soup., etc. It's funny, when family tragedy has struck my family and others, I've noticed that those who helped out the most were 'weak' in the cong., an unbelieving mate, those who were 'marked' etc. Everyone else was too busy in service to care. Why am I talking about the df'd and apostates, when they usually, collectively, do a crappy job with taking care of their own!?!?!?

The reason, because she did not get prior permission from the elders.

Yep. I've heard of this happening more and more since the late '80's.

Good point. A person of another religion was the hero of Jesus' story.....very profound.

Thi chi, I'm looking forward to meeting you there. LMAO at the perception of many people on here of us being 'stuffy conservatives'. I'll be the one in a lava lava, likely bald w/ a ming the merciless beard.

I once pointed out to an elder that if Jesus was our guide, that he spoke with the most apostate being

in the universe, Satan, and even debated scripture with him....why it was that Apostates were banned, when

    that was not Jesus' example?

he looked at me with thunderous anger and said--- you are skating on THIN ICE.

At which point I realized a big part of the game, let those NOT baptized think they can ask ANY question, but treat those who are baptized as if they will lose their eternal life just because they still have questions... once you were in, you had made a commitment to end your own thinking even if you made that commitment in gross ignorance...which was OK by them, as they counted on it.
