Not an original thought from me at the moment but one that I am now living my life by:

Life is not a journey to the grave of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming,

    " WOW! WHAT A RIDE!"

"Good bye, cruel world." There, I've said before I died.

Is this going to be like a shakespeare play where you get to die then miraculously come back to life and say your last words to the audience then die again from your instantly fatal stab wound??

My son's take on Romeo and Juliet, at age four:

He [Romeo] isn't gonna die because he doesn't got any blood holes in him.

If it's on short term I will probably say something like "oy" !

    or

If it's long and painfull AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ! or RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !

Not sure I'll be remembered for that

I would not worry about something witty or funny...........I would just assure my daughter I love her. That I did everything I could for her and was sorry I was dying.

I'd say, "I did my best with what I had"

    : I TOLD YOU I WAS SICK!!

That is the actual epitaph of Oscar Levant, the noted concert pianist and self-proclaimed hypochondriac. He was a frequent visitor of Jack Parr on the old Tonight Show, and spent much of the time whining about his various illnesses. He was a great sarcastic wit, though.
