These days, just sort of feeling like Samson between the pillars...
I think I now know why he "delayed the End." It was to ensure Barry Bonds would have a chance to break Hank Aaron's homerun record - dang, what happens if the league bans steroids? Okay, back to the drawing board.
If ignorance of Jehovah's destruction is bliss (once you know whats right and you do wrong you are wicked)
Then are we not doing the Earths population a disservice by preaching and condemning them to death?
XQ: I will have to EXcept your apologies. First: I am under the impression that Jehovah edits the WT (quoting Franz), do you think He got it wrong the first time? Second, "revising" out a date and replacing "in our day" is not a minor change. This is part of the pattern that seeks to hide embarrasing written statements (like the entire first 75 years of the WBTS publications).I find it interesting you first claim not to know of "any Y2K humbug", yet when the statements are exposed you then apologize for the revisionist practices of WTBTS. Hmmm...
To get this thread back on track: I would like to point out that the FDS depends on exactly this kind of acceptance from the R&F to continue their face-saving deceptions. Only then can they have the currency to then blame their lost sheep for getting disappointed.
Um how is it being an apologist. I stated pulishers revise books to sell them and keep them current. Unless you are being sold an original reproduction there is no garantee the book is an exact copy of the original espeacially if they say on the book it has been altered from its original form. Look at the star wars DVDs they are making a new old trilogy dvd based on replacing some actors with ones from the new trilogy. Most companies are inheirintly revisionist. It is part of the capitalist system. Napster, Coca Cola, MCI anyone? I find it insulting that when a person points out that the watchtower uses the same practices they are apologist. I could see the point being valid if this was a recent article, but it is from 1971. They changed the bound volume, and the CD is a copy of the bound volume. This was before the donation arangement. They litterally sold books. Maybe we differ in how we see the watchtower. I see it in a simular light as the defunct catholic comic book treasure trove. It was to provide an alternative to catholic children to the "immoral" comics of the 50's, and was back by the church and subscriptions were distributed in catholic schools by nuns(this was to cut traditional distribution cost egad just like the watchtower). It was mostly indoctrination illustrated, and featured the same type of gore as regular comics on issues the church supported such as the evils of communism (kinda simular to how the watchtower did armageddon pics eons ago), it also follower the lives of saints. Its most popular comic strips was about a boy with *gasp* a protestant father! Unlike treasure trove the watchtower is still going strong. It is target audience is for JWs by JWs. It is manely to provide JW friendly fodder for the average JW reader, while teaching them about their own religion in bit sized chunks. The rest is just good marketing. I mean "edited by Jehovah" thats a great slogan. Even better if your coustomers believe it.

You have apologist written all over you.
First of all your name.

Keep up the excuses.
This doesn't change the fact that the WT is responsible
for many deaths, suicides, murders, family tragedies,

So is Rock and Roll. Your point?
Your point?
Rock&Roll does not claim to represent god or provide mankinds eternal destiny. Are you serious? Jesus!
