"Christ, for example, was commanded to go only to the lost sheep of Israel, yet on occasion he ventured to Sidon and Samaria and helped non-Jews. So, you really can't judge how I may serve Jehovah"

So NOW he's equal to Jesus Christ himself!

Oh, Bobby, Hubris-man! ROFLOL at your arrogance and false pride!

And why do you think one can't teach children about the reality of life and death. Why do you think offering up fairy tales is efficacious? CHildren have the ability to accept what is clearly explained to them. All you show by offering myths is denial of the life and death process. Tina

That's an interesting accusation. When Jesus told the Jews he was God's Son the demonized Pharisees accused him of making himself God's equal. I merely pointed to the example of Christ, whose example we Christians are supposed to follow, and yet I am accused of equating myself with Christ. Obviously, you are motivated by the same evil spirit that animated Christ's accusers. Some things never change, it really is amazing, not to mention faith strengthening. / You Know

While I can see the wisdom of his in not allowing the organization to be distracted with your issues, it is entirely in keeping with Jehovah's determination to settle the issues once and for all, that he would place some of his servants in the fire to be grilled by those who boast that no one can stand up to the so-called "truth about the truth." Paul in fact stated that God had set some anointed Christians on 'exhibition as a theatrical spectacle' before even the angels, as well as men and the world.

You DO think highly of yourself, don't you, You Know?

Yes. You have once again strengthened my faith that the Watch Tower Society has many pompous, arrogant, un-Christlike, self-styled know-it-alls in their midst who do not bother to "pummel [their own] bodies as a slave" but rather spend their time self-righteously pummeling those who might be called Jehovah's "lost sheep"!

    You Know,

of course its about you sweetie. If its not the truth, then you are not of the annointed, you are not part of a faithful and discreet slave class that is in line to be God's right hand men, angels or whatever.

You want it to be the truth because of what it means to you.

But hey, you are no different than any of us. We all want whats good for us to be truth, it just seldom is.

    Choices:
Too young to understand: Tell the child that the person has gone to be with God.
Old enough to understand: No one except God knows if "...." they accepted our Lord as their saviour.
    Both factual.

Rhetoric upon line of rhetoric. You have to get in your "myths & fairy tales", don't you? See my reply to Rochelle. You are going to be one surprised ridiculer when you here that final trump sound.

    Joel:

But hey, you are no different than any of us. We all want what’s good for us to be truth, it just seldom is.

I enjoyed your thought here my friend. . . and the my own voice of experience suggests that, unfortunately, you’re right: “it just seldom is.”

As in the case of Rex’s postulation of a child’s question about death, for instance:

Choices: Too young to understand: Tell the child that the person has gone to be with God. Old enough to understand: No one except God knows if "...." they accepted our Lord as their savior.

Gone to be with God? Isn’t that a rather nebulous statement? And isn’t it potentially contradicted by your second allusion, that “being” with God is conditional, based on the acceptance or rejection of some alleged savior?

I suppose than we can safely say that the vast majority of mankind, not being practicing Christians by virtue of birthplace, racial bias, or preference, do not fall under your God’s selective umbrella of salvation. They never will go to "be with God." How incomprehensive of a God of love – wouldn’t you say? How would this be explained to your hypothetical child? By expressing more palliatives?

    Both factual.

Please Rex, take a moment to look up factual in your dictionary. Though a tenet (eg: dogma) of your faith, what you propose is simply supposition, not fact.

Rhetoric upon line of rhetoric. You have to get in your "myths & fairy tales", don't you? See my reply to Rochelle.

Rhetoric is simply the skilled use of speech or language. Is there some crime or sin inherent in that ability? Or is your problem more simply in that you’re lacking this ability yourself? Since it is YOU who continually resorts to "myths & fairy tales" as though fact, expecting others to share your delusions and attacking them if they don’t, you shouldn’t be surprised to be challenged on that issue.

You are going to be one surprised ridiculer when you here that final trump sound.

I wish a had a nickel for every time this empty threat was uttered by some fundy. I ridicule the ridiculous Rex. Why? Because it’s deserving of it.
