Is there anything that can done in the future

Actually, no. New Orleans is below sea-level, and surrounded by three bodies of water. Even with just 2 inches of rain they have to turn on the pumps. I think they do a lot of praying.

So far so good here in Baton Rouge....winds are just picking up just a tad...hopefully it'll go on east like the weathermen keep saying...but on all the satellites Ivan's eye is pretty damn close to the tip of the boot....We're pretty far inland but you never know....

It's stuff like this that makes me glad I *only* live on an earthquake fault line.

Y'all take care down there. I mean it!

It will fall violently on the head of the wicked.

That explains why the hurricanes keep hitting Florida where Jeb Bush is!! LOL

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes. Everything turned out fine. In fact our thunderstorms are usually much worse in New Orleans!

So sorry for all the people in Gulf Shores and Pensacola area. Anyone on this board from there? What a terrible mess they have down there. Sad thing. So glad so many evacuated!
