A woman has a blood transfusion during pregnancy. This blood, obviously, now constitutes the unborn child's circulation. Kid gets born, becomes of age and wants to become a jw. Is this possible, seeing as his system is tainted with transfused blood, i.e., the "life force" of another creature? The gb now decrees the accepting of blood to be a matter of conscience (Could all flip-flop yet again). Was the child able to exercise conscience while in the womb? How many jw's are walking around today, blissfully unaware of their apostasy? Is there a question about this on the application form? Not being a Jovwit myself, merely interested in this type of daftness. Thankyou.

Blood is absorbed, DNA from transfused blood might not be detectable after a week. Why worry about such minutiae?

Perhaps the child will be hauled into the back room and asked some very uncomfortable questions about the transfusion such as: "Did you enjoy it?" "Did you scream?"

This is not an example of apostasy. An apostate is someone who denounces their former faith. Or as far as JWs are concerned someone who doubts and questions WT doctrines.

Someone who has been given blood without their consent is not an apostate in any sense of the word.

It's the trauma of labor/delivery that typically triggers the need for a transfusion, so the child is already delivered at the point this happens.

Even if we assume, just of the sake of discussion that the transfusion happens for some other reason months or weeks prior to delivery, the syncytial membrane (i.e. The placenta) keeps maternal and fetal blood mostly separate.

The blood doctrine is not based on the concept of "Soul contamination." It's based on the idea that willful acceptance of a "Primary component" constitutes disrespect for life and the Ransom. This requires agency.

For example, if a JW were given blood against their will while unconscious, this would not be a sin. (JW's compare it to rape.)

There are some witnesses who have been transfused, even as active practicers of their religion. But they had a moment of weakness when confronted with death. They are still active and accepted on their congregations.

think of rape, maybe? Or even consensual sex. None of that prevents one from continuing as a witness if they are seen as repentant.

They are wack jobs but there is at least SOME rationality.
