Roger: "Banging can be fun."
Jane: "Ooooh yes, and I was banging away all last night with Rod and Roger."
Roger (looking sad): "Yes, but it broke my plucking instrument."
Geoffrey: "Never mind Roger, let sing the plucking song, come on
everybody get your instruments out."
Rod (to Jane): "Do you want to blow on my pipe while I'm twanging away?"
Jane: "Oh no Rod, I was blowing a lot with Roger last night. But would you
like to play with my maracas?"

How could rainbow really be like that. I used to sit there every dinner time watching, I probably sang along innocently to the plucking song and never knew until now !!!!

I have heard that sometimes, TV performers make these things just to let the steam out.
Back in the sixties, Red Skelton had a variety show, and on the day of the show, they performed twice; The Dress Rehearsal and the Broadcast Show. During the Dress, Red went crazy, cracking every dirty joke he could like he had Tourette's Syndrome.
The studio wasn't crazy about him doing that in front of a live audience, but the alternative was letting go nuts on Live TV, so they let him blow off steam.
