yes i read the sentences, and the point is that kerry has already stated his beliefs were not based on bushs claims, that in fact he had these beliefs prior to bush being in office......i know this really shoots holes in this idealized view of kerry that some dont want to relinquish, but those are the facts.

You want solutions? Let's say for N. Korea and Iran.....cheap, inexpensive and to the point, debilitating actually.

Just get the OK from the UN security counsel, fly a couple of planes over the reactors, bomb the shit out of them, and voila, they'll have to start all over from scratch. Just warn the population ahead of time so they can get out of the way, if they don't then that's their problem.

The same would've applied to Iraq, you knew where the labs were (according to Powell). So why go through the whole process of bringing 130000 men to do a job that a couple of jets could've taken care of in a week end.

But of course, those solutions are really too simplistic.

uhhh, dubla, do you understand the difference between saying "Saddam Hussein is a threat to America", and, being the president, having all the best intelligence at your fingertips, misleading your country into believing Saddam Hussein had a connection to 9/11, misleading your country and the world as to the true status of the threat from Iraq, making the choice to invade Iraq in spite of very precient advice and sound logic to the contrary thereby losing all the goodwill brought to America by 9/11 and thereby creating a melting pot and gathering spot for muslim extremist and Iraqi patriots and family members of innocent people killed by Americans to take shots at (as in kill) Americans?

when did i say kerry and bush were equally at fault? your gf likes to talk about diversions....thats what your above post there is. i was debating one specific line about bush lying to america about iraq being a grave threat.....and the FACT is, that if bush lied about the threat, so did kerry.....pretty simple stuff. again, i know this doesnt connect for those that hold kerry up on a pedestal, but theres no way around it. why dont you tell me what you think....do you think kerry believed saddam was a grave threat, or do you think bush conned kerry into believing saddam was a grave threat (as abaddon implied)? or do you think they both knew he wasnt a threat, and they both lied?

c'mon six....you know the real reason was to create a free Iraq....you know...the election and democracy bit......as George would say (well now anyway)...a free Iraq is good for the world....

Even if 25% of his constituents (and I'm being generous in my numbers) are living below poverty line....forget that.....we needed a free Iraq....another mouth to feed....

And people actually vote for these guys??....

lol, I think Saddam was a grave threat. Hell, look at all the mass graves! The lie becomes bad, wrong, naughty, murderous, etc etc, when you make the American people believe that an invasion of Iraq is justified when you in fact know, or should know, that it is not. One way you can do this is to use the words "grave threat" (sounds ominous, but clearly subjective) a few times, and then start changing it to "gathering threat".... and then move on to "imminent" threat.

It all sounds like a silly JWD type semantics arugment, till you sober up enough to realize that the future of humanity (or at least a good portion of it) is being toyed with. IOW, people ARE dying, and my child MAY die, based on the facts of this discussion. Because the threat is real, it's complex, and GW Bush thinks this is all high-school football, the team with the most muscle and testosterone will win. Fuck him, and fuck anyone who is stupid enough to believe that is true.

So bitch and moan about Kerry having the awful morals to have decided long ago to be a politician all you want, but you're an idiot for playing that game.

Now I gotta run, or I'll miss my second flight today. I'll be VERY dissapointed if the words "ad hominem" are not used in either your reply, or at least some filthy disgusting republican's reply ;-)
