dubla : likewise. i dont think those that debate politics with me are trying to "change my mind", and im certainly not trying to change theirs/yours....its not realistic. if thats what youve been trying to do, its no wonder that you get frustrated from time to time.

this was not my point, and I suspect you (to) know it (but I can't be sure of that of course)

this argument is a non argument ... No comment !

I don't think that anything at this point will change your mind (facts or arguments) ... ONLY YOU CAN (it's true for everybody) ... If you can read in between the lines

I've given up trying to change people's minds. They can read the same articles I read and make up their own minds. I'm simple asking "what would you do?".

It's the same question I ask JW's whenever they complain about this "system of things." It's easy for them to have these huge headlines on the Awake! magazine about hunger or sickness and man's inability to solve these problems. I think many people today are doing the same thing with Bush. They complain about anythng he does. For example, let's say he didn't go to war with Iraq and 4 or 5 years from now Saddam has finished his WMD. These same people would be screaming "why didn't Bush do something about it???" Or with Iran who has long-range missles and is on the verge of developing nukes. If Bush goes to war, these people will be shouting "he's a war monger" or if he doesn't stop Iran a year from now when Iran has nuke tipped missle pointing at europe, people will be asking "why the f*ck didn't Bush do something to prevent this."

All I'm asking is what do you suggest? What would you have done with North Korea 10 years ago before they had nukes? What would you do with Iran right now? What should europe do about the problems in Africa, problems that the French, Germans and English caused? IMO europeans and many left leaning americans couldn't care less about the suffering of most people in this world. You may disagree but this is what I believe when I look at what they allow to happen in their backyard and don't do a dam thing to help.

It's easy to say "Bush sucks" but it's hard to come up with your own solution.

    Roy,

to make it clear as I feel you could try to make an argument out of that :

Those who are interested in getting the point with facts and regarding to the results probably got it already or still need a little time to get there ... there's nothing much to add from what have been said and certainly not in answering your question ... VOILA ...

I'm just addressing the thought behind the original post, what things cost and is it worth it and what options there are. We can argue all day long about the war in Iraq (did Bush lie, did we go to war to soon, is Iraq better off, etc.). I see a lot of opinions not facts.

It's always easy for individuals or groups of people to be critical of someone who's done something while they themselves havn't done anything. Ok, I get the point, you're against the war in Iraq, you're against war in general. Great! If the world's bad guys can be stopped without the use of force, sign me up. All I'm asking is what's your solution? Wait for Iran and North Korea to simply stop their nuke program? I look at the mess in Africa and the mess the Europeans have made of it and I ask "show me your example of helping the world's poor and I'll follow." I find it ironic that in western europe muslim's are being violently abused for no reason but here in the States it's not an epidemic like it is in England or France.

Like you said, facts are facts.

heres the european solution....give them gifts and ask nicely:

VIENNA, Austria (AP) -- Iran vowed anew to continue enriching uranium, dealing a potential setback to a European plan to ease the nuclear standoff with Tehran by offering sales of nuclear fuel and a trade deal as incentives.
