  other religions may have alot of cash but this one claims the world is going to end any day.

  Happy Guy.. I couldn?t agree with you more.. If the world was going to end at any moment, then there would be no need to have money in the bank. But its not going to end. The society is just in the business of selling doomsday scenarios. There is a lot of money to be made catering to all the people who want to think that they are intellectual elitist?s, and ethically superior to all others because that have the inside scoop on god.

  The society is not the only person to play for the hard cash of these people. Edgar Whisenant book 88 Reasons why the Rapture will be in 1988 sold millions, as well as did Hal Lindsey?s, Late Great Planet Earth. If the world was going to truly end as outlined by both of these books, the authors would got have only made the information available for free, there would have been no reason to write, and sell revisions, and sequels to these books.

  Anybody that reads the bible will conclude that the world does end . True there are countless authors out there and religions that make a fortune on the end of the world scenarios , the WTBTS even tried to pick dates for the end so as to increase membership and sales, then when it didn't happen ,came up with all sorts of very strange ideas , such as it did end invisibly rather than admit their mistake . They now claim that jesus is ruling the earth invisibly but will eventually take control of all power involving the affairs of planet earth .

  That was the smartest thing they ever did.. Your customers want to know that your are offering them the only true religion.. By claming that Jesus returned invisibly, and then offering that up as proof that you are chosen by god, and the end time is near is nothing short of brilliant .. While it can not be proven, it can never be DISPROVEN..

  yeppers the invisibility thing worked out just fine for the WTBTS .

  I do believe that the parable of the workers getting a coin is associated with them receiving holy spirit and converting others to the christian religion and has nothing to do with money . The guy that blew his wage was condemned the guy that burried his wage was condemned but the guy that used it wisely was given far more than he ever dreamed of having .

  Much of that reported Revenue for the N.Y. WT is cash that has been transferred from WT worldwide. Of the two countries outside of the U.S. that I have seen finacials for, it appears they are transferring the bulk of annual revenue to presumably WT in the U.S. In other words, I suspect that this 951 million U.S. denominated dollars is probably an aggregate of worldwide revenues.

  This shows how much of the worldwide revenues are being funnelled into Brooklyn. It seems that the vast majority of this cash flow is not so much from non-profit sales of the literature itself but from donations by publishers?who donate for their own literature as well as any literature that may not get placed, in addition to regular donations for the local Kingdom Hall . . . as well as the ?worldwide work.? So, the WT ends up receiving funds for the literature from basically three angles: from the householder in the territory who buys it, from the publisher who adds his/her donation for his/her own monthly order of literature items, and from all congregation members who donate to the local Kingdom Hall and the ?worldwide work.?

  Multiply this procedure for all the congregations around the globe, and it doesn?t take long for that grand total to get up there. You can certainly see how it is in the WT?s best interests to keep expanding into as many countries as possible to increase their ?customer base.? Actually, it?s kind of like a ?pyramid scheme? when you think about it (no pun intended?as in the number of steps down into the Great ?Pyramid? of Gizeh used by Charles Russell to calculate the years until Armageddon).

  All these funds, of course, get funnelled into the central location of Brooklyn?kind of like how in outer space gasses, dust, asteroids, planets, and even stars get sucked into a black hole, thereby adding to the black hole?s mass and thus increasing its gravitational power.

  Yes SHAS as well this revenue would also likely include donations from estates (at least those which WT lawyers don't loot for their own purposes-I know of two such cases: One went to jail and the other lost his licence to practice law-permanently. Those are the ones that get caught). This is a significant component of the Revenue and I have heard that JWs are very active in trying to get estates willed to WT.
