This is a great idea! Then you could attach a video camera to it, put it in the fridge, and watch your week old lunch in the tupperware container grow!

Oh great, just what we need, something else to perpetuate the stereotype of a fat, insatiable American. And to boot, this is the first time I agreed with Simon on something in a long while!

For real though, this might be a good idea for when those that do the cooking in the house need to unwind while the food is being cooked

I recall that some twenty years ago, a major retailer (Sears) introduced a kitchen microwave oven with a built in 20 cm color television. So the basic idea is not new.

I'm not much of a television fan and indeed did not own a television for most of my life (so far). But then there are those that do contribute to the US national average of about six hours of viewing per day and maybe a refrigerator/TV is the item for them.

From an engineering standpoint, it's a thumbs down as the system complexity is increased beyond the utility offered by a separation approach. That is, there's more stuff to break and the repair costs will be higher. If someone really needs a TV in their kitchen, they would be better off getting a small and cheap unit that can be mounted under a cupboard.

I would love that! My son is always taking my 13 inch Tv out of the kitchen, which of course interfers with my decorating show. He figures his video games in his bedroom rate higher than Trading Spaces, The Decorating
Challenge, Clean Sweep etc, etc, etc. If I said I wanted to watch sports in the kitchen now that would be another story. Then I'd have about 4-5 smelly teenagers stinking up my kitchen. SO, the fridge thing. I'm definately diggin that. I was thinking about buying a new car, but I don't know the fidge looks mighty fine.

The only plus I see is that then I would be able to hear/sort of watch Oprah and Dr Phil which I never see because it's on during supper preparation/eating time.

TV anywhere (must stick on it) ... or ... lets say its for someone who can't put his big fridge in the kitchen and can put it in the living room at TV place ... the remote and 50 cm from the frigde (means the Buds and ice) well it just misses a little Micro wave somewhere for the frozen pizza ...
