The moral is this
A dub is laying on his deathbed and says to his dub master, "Master, when I was little you PROMISED me I would never die and now over EIGHTY years later I'm dying. The dub Master replied, "You silly little dubbie! I'm a religious leader. THAT's what I do!"
A debate about the source of the illustration does not change the point of it
A witness of my acqaintance gave over her life to the cause. She had a brother who rejected the "Truth", went into business, made a pile, drove a mercedes and also helped her financially.... Our sister pioneered from youth. Convinced that Armageddon was around the corner she resisted army duty in WW2 and went to jail for a while. On release she pioneered again, married and they became Circuit Overseer and wife..Darn it! During her 40's she fell pregnant , bore a son who is now grown up and an elder.
Of course the end has not come. Sister Pioneer is today old, frail, widdowed and in a nursing home and reportedly suffers deprerssion.. Thank God she had an unplanned pregnancy and a son to look out for her and the money from worldy brother to set them up..
Still she waits for the end of this system .......promises, promises!
