A girl I work with told me the other day that she is going to the elders and ask them to "reinstate" her for the 4th time. I told her she must be out of her mind. Why would any JW go through all of that headache? She said that she is afraid for her small children and she does not want them to die at "Armaggeddon." I tried to tell her to just live her life reading her bible and praying to Jehovah and Jesus and living a good Spiritual life without organized religion. She started crying and told me that everytime she tries to do right "temptation" comes running towards her. She is a single woman with small children and her problem with staying sex-free just keep getting her Df'd or publicly reprooved. She has been DF'd 3 times that I know of and publicly reprooved twice. What advice would you(posters) give her? Do you know anyone that was DF'd or publicly reprooved over three times? I feel once a DF'd JW you will always be in trouble with the elders. I left and never went back.
Do you know any JW's that were Disfellowshipped or Reprooved over 3 times?

Being DF'd once is circumstantial, twice is unfortunate, but 3 times is downright carelessness.

Yes. More than three times. In fact, I've lost count.

Being sports minded, three strikes your out. You already offered sound suggestions. We can only hope she responds to them. Guest77

3 times is a charm.
Seriously though, if reinstated, what makes her think she will be able to resist temptation again?

Hey BookerT,
I don't have an answer for you. My wife's brother was DF'ed at least 3 times. I asked her how many and she said she felt 3 possibly 4, she lost count. He always marries the women he gets involved with. Then goes through a divorce and gets DF'ed. I don't know why they subject themselves to the humiliation involved in going before a JC.
I knew someone back in CT where I lived originally who was DF'ed at least 3 times and publically reproved also. He had a large family and he always seemed to get right back into it. I've recently found out he passed away a few months ago.
I personally wouldn't put myself through it again after the first time. That's why Tink and I chose not to show up at ours, it's humiliating to say the least. I hope she listens to your advice Booker.

It sounds as if to me that this woman has a huge self esteem issue, not to mention an uneducated view of the JW's. Maybe you could edge her into gradually into the reality of life and the JDub's??

Yes. We were very close friends with a couple. She made the mistake by playing nasty with guys who weren't her hubby.....3 times in two hubbies. In all honesty, you wouldn't have known it. She was the zealous type of witness who spent much time in service and attended all meetings before and after her mistakes. I think she tried to cover her weaknesses with acts of devotion to ol' Jehover myself.

I knew a guy years ago that had been disfellowshipped several times (he was a flight attendant and quite a "catch" to some ladies that is...)
I know he finally married which is what kept him out of trouble. Last year, I was flying to NYC and he was the head flight attendant on my plane. I mentioned to him that I had left the JW's and he told me he was still active, divorced and had been disfellowshipped a total of 5 times...Go figure!
