Too hot,
too cold,
too wet,
too windy,
too sunny,
too tired,
too sick,
too lazy,
and too wise to deal with any of that crap.
Why be concerned about an excuse? If you neither want, nor feel like going - then just stay home and attend to more important matters. Really there can be no other activities of lesser relevance than jw meetings or 'preaching' work.
cheeses - who never needed an excuse to dodge any of that crap.
HC,
Why be concerned about an excuse? If you neither want, nor feel like going - then just stay home and attend to more important matters.
I guess if a person is in the begining of his exit,,they don't want to be bombarded by WT propaganda,, but everything is still new to them and so they want to back out easy and not get Df'd,, maybe they have family that will shun them and so they need to stop going to meeting but don't want to lose family and so they are looking for an exuse. Not everybody has your situation or personality type and so they may consider the consequences of their action more carefully.
Excuses, excuses!
Too hot or too cold - must work for every situation I have come across.
I known a few who have had pets who were able to turn in a few good excuses. Have to get back to feed Tiddles, Rex will rip the house to pieces if he does get his walkies.
1. allergy to the wall paper (I know someone who stays away from meeting because of this)
2. sensitive to mould and perfume
3. getting a call from overseas and didin't feel it would be mannerly to cut them off.
4. play the health card. (Depression, fiber myalgia, migraines, flu, etc.)
I find that if you play it right and don't miss all of them no one will miss you.
Also it helps to be in a big congregation and if someone says I didn't see you , you can say I didin't see you either brother where were you sitting?
