*** jv 14 1 Why Should Jehovah Have Witnesses? ***
In contrast, ?Noah was a righteous man,? one who ?proved himself faultless among his contemporaries.? (Gen. 6:9) He demonstrated his submission to God?s sovereignty by doing ?just as God commanded.? (Gen. 6:22) Acting in faith, he ?constructed an ark for the saving of his household.? (Heb. 11:7) But Noah was more than a builder; as ?a preacher [or herald] of righteousness,? he warned of the coming destruction. (2 Pet. 2:5) Despite Noah?s bold witnessing, however, that wicked generation ?took no note until the flood came and swept them all away.??Matt. 24:37-39.
The high-lighted quote from Matt 24: 37-39 is from the NWT.
Notice how the New International Version quotes it:
37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
King James Version:
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
New American Standard:
37 "For the (48) coming of the Son of Man will be (49) just like the days of Noah.
38 "For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, (50) marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that (51) Noah entered the ark,
39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the (52) coming of the Son of Man be.
If you go to the Interlinear Bible that the WTS used to print(the purple bible with Greek) and look at the direct Greek to English translation it says "they did not know" but in the column on the right where the NWT version is printed it says, "they took no note".
Another example of the WTS twisting the scriptures to try to prove their doctrine that Noah preached to his contemporaries and they had a chance to survive as opposed to what the Bible actually says that they did not know what was happening.
