I suspect there are a few nuances of bible understanding that may, just may, be correct but they are preipheral at best.
here's one that my dad always likes to bring up...blood. they were right about blood.
he'll say "even back when we were ridiculed and laughed at for not taking blood, we stood by our beliefs, even when we didn't really know why. and NOW, well just look at it! with all of the tainted blood, the currupt red cross. there are even all kinds of studies out there from non-jw sources that say blood in surgery actually *slows down* recovery and success rates. there are even hospitals were they try to do the majority of their surgeries *without* blood!" and he'll go on and bust out some books or papers that show he's correct. now, he is on the blood liaison committee, so i'm sure that's where he gets all of his 'inside info'
i realize this isn't a prophecy or whatever, but just wondering what some rebuttals or other thoughts on the matter would be...?

I wonder how many studies show the exact opposite of what these studies showed? Sure, we've had problems with blood in the past (tainted blood scandal), but there are several medical "solutions" that have had equally bad or worse problems for the ill person. These have been taken off the market or the problem has been resolved.
Screening of blood in Canada is very thorough that now the risks are very low.
