May I say this? "It ain't that complicated, guys."

I want to thank you all for your thoughts on the subject. You all have definitly given me Pleanty to read. But, please take it easy on each other. I just wanted an answer to my origional question, which was how can the so called anointed say they were, and I can't be? What makes them so special?
Peace to all!

It ain't that complicated, guys.
That's what brain surgeons say!

I didn't mean that as an attack. Don't misunderstand. It's just not a difficult concept. To answer your question: You can be. They are wrong to think they are an isolated little group, specially chosen, while others are left out.
Remember what I quoted in my first post? "One Hope, one Faith, one Baptism." (there is ONE hope)

Dearest AGuest,
In order to understand what a seal is, we must go to the ancient
records. They were very common in the Holy Land. Hebrew seals were normally made of semi-precious hard stones. Many from the iron age, date from the 8th -6th century B.C.They were scaraboidal in shape, and flat at the bottom and convex on the top. Some were conical. One of the more famous seals excavated said "servant of the King" on it, and belonged to Asaiah, a servant of Josiah in 11 Kings 22:12. Most had names inscribed showing ownership, with a small carving, like praying hands, etc. What they were was a claim of ownership.
They were put on pottery, letters, documents. It denoted to whom the object belonged to. You can return to the scripture at Ephesians 1:13 which was given to the ones to whom Paul was speaking to, ones
alive.
" But you also hoped in him after you heard the word of truth, the good news about your salvation. By means of him also, after you believed, you were SEALED with the PROMISE of holy spirit,(14) which was a token in advance of our inheritance for the purpose of releasing by a ransom (God's) own possession ,to his glorious praise. The seal was God's promise, as God owned the seal.
Scripture in question, Rev 7:3
"Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until after we have sealed the slaves of our God in their foreheads." This seal is owned by Jehovah, and the Lamb. We know this because in Rev.14:1
the 144,000 have HIS name, and HIS Father's name written on their foreheads . This is the seal of owership, the one early christians
understood.
You say that the seal is holy spirit.
There are many "seals" in the Bible. 1. figure of speech -see Song of Solomon 8:6,"Set me as a seal upon your heart." 2. Literal seal, the seal on the tomb of Jesus. 3.Figuratively- in John, Jesus sets
his seal on revelation from God (3:33).Abraham receives circumsision as a seal, Romans 4:11. And many others.
So a blank statement that a seal is holy spirit does not fit.
Now you say that the sealing on the forehead by the angel of God does
not signify the 144,000 to have been faithful until death. You first site, John 11:26 in which Jesus says "everyone that is living and exercises faith in me will never die at all. Do you believe this?"(to Martha)Are you saying Martha, is still alive, or she turned to disbelief after Jesus raised her brother from the dead? That is utter
nonsence. When Jesus spoke of the resurrection of the dead, He said,
"did you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying,'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?' He is the God not of the dead, but of the living." THEY DIED FAITHFUL they are not
still alive.
You say this is "putting off the flesh with the blood, and puting on the flesh with holy spirit, the blood of God...It does not require
one to die as JESUS demonstrated" So now, Jesus didn't Die either?
YOU DO NOT BELIEVE HE REALLY DIED? You need to study your Bible.
It states HE DIED. Look up the condition of the dead at Ecclesiastes 9:4-6. That is the condition of the dead. If Jesus did not really
die, the Bible lied.
Right, I DON'T understand. I know the concept isn't difficult and I don't know what you mean by that... I engage people in conversation everyday, just never with god. But remember, Mulan, it wasn't me who said that those to whom god talked were few. I'm just trying to understand how it works since it's never happened to ME. I'm just trying to get past the bible jibberish (no offense) and see how and why it happens in everyday terms.
So... Mulan... you're saying that god talks to YOU, too?
Shelby and Mulan...
i just remembered...
you guys never answered my questions! would you mind?

Does all this really mean that a dove doesn't descend one day and whisper it in your ear like I thought?

Where it is a duty to worship the Sun you can be sure that a study of the laws of heat is a crime.
Hello Teejay
I believe I understand some of how you may feel.
I also know Shelby very well and perhaps can add a little to what she has said.
I too have heard our master, Christ speak to me often, not near as much as Shell, but often.
Remember that "faith" is one of the fruitages of the spirit and that is why sometimes we may have to keep on asking, seeking and knocking. So, that if we are lacking the faith needed to hear, then he may grant it to us.
I, myself had several chances to hear and I believe that is why I began partaking as a JW.
I was willing to hear that I needed to partake, but was unwilling to hear or rather except anything that was saying the JWs were not the truth, I would rather just "wait on Jehovah" to clear things up or to correct the false teaching.
At the time I did not realize it, but I was choosing what I would and would not hear. I had never been trained to know how to listen to the spirit, I been raised from infancy (birth) to follow the GB and no matter what, do not leave Jehovahs visible org on earth.
Regarding Saul in Acts 9:1-6 there was a bright light from heaven the shone around him and in verse 7 tells us the men heard a voice but seeing no one stood speechless. So, they could have put faith in what they had seen and heard even if they did not understand the words. They were following Saul before this happened, why not listen to him after this miracle.
As to hearing the voice, when he speaks to me it is from within, (Gen 24:12-21,42-45 focusing on verse 45 "before I was finished speaking in my heart") at first with my same voice, speaking the exact way I would. This takes faith not to go crazy thinking that you are talking to yourself. As time goes by and you began to be trained and learn how to listen, the voice becomes more distinct and does not resemble yours to the exact degree it used to. And you learn to identify it.
Matt 25:31-46 shows us that all we have to do to get life is "do good to Christ's brothers".
But if we are asking for more, such as a greater relationship or greater spiritual gifts he allows us to draw closer to the "light" or the Christ, thus this light reveals the deeper things of our hearts, and these things are at times very difficult to except, but by acknowledging and excepting these things and correcting them to the best of our ability, whatever that may be, allows our receptacles to be filled with this spirit.
He is very loving just as a loving parent with a child. He does not leave us, we must leave him. It's just that at times when we do not hear him we think he does not talk to us or is not interested in us.
Please do not give up, nor get discouraged, He is the hearer of prayer.
I hope this helps at least a little
A slave of Christ

Shelby explains her reasons for believing she was 'chosen.' She describes two events that can be explained by simple medical science.
She chooses instead to invest her experience with glamor and mystery by attributing it to Gawd rather than to her own brain chemistry. It would be pathetic if it weren't so frigging sad.
Her bright light that smacked her in the head is a phenomenon that is known and explainable and repeatable in lab settings. (See the movie 'Phenomenon' with Travolta for one example of a similar 'blinding revelation'). Some simple research will turn up several physical explanations for her experience. A thorough medical check-up would probably show some neurological abnormality. Rather than seek professional help, though, she embroidered the experience with her fondest fantasies and voila! Religious experience! Feeling of smug superiority over being 'specially chosen' to serve Gawd! Possibility of sycophantic followers! Oh boy!
Her second experience is quite obviously a form of night terror. I recognize the symptoms from her description, which fits the classic pattern snug & tailor-made. The dark presence, the fear of the presence killing you...Dream fugues do not qualify as proof that Gawd talks to you. They just show that your brain is misfiring somewhere. Medical treatment may eliminate all that light and the staticky voices.
too bad Shelby needs to feel important so badly that she will use these brainfarts as 'proof' that Gawd is the source of the voices she hears in her head. (You don't hear with your heart, Shelby, that's just more stupidity you spouted; your heart is a pump. Period. You hear with your ears...and Gawd NEVER talks into sane peoples' ears)
and while we're on the subject of CRACKPOTS and their bad brain chemicals:
LARSGUY IS GARY THE BIBLEMAN FROM H2O. HE THINKS HE IS THE BLACK HOMOSEXUAL TRANSVESTITE MESSIAH, RETURNED TO SAVE US ALL. Please don't encourage either of these sick individuals to post their longwinded insane rants. It feeds their illness.
