CN, thats strange that you would mention that, I now, vaguely remember some special significance that may have been eluded to regarding the importance of postal workers delivering the mail, with some reference to magazine delivery as well, wayyyyyyy back in the late 70's , I seem to remember a point a family member brought up during one of those assemblies or something............of course during that time I was way too focused on how not to find my potential mate. Being constantly encouraged asto the benefits of being single. Forget about it, giving attention to the whore moans, ahem excuse me, I mean hormones that were raging in our youthful bodies. But thats a topic for an entirely different thread.......

i married at 19 to pretend to be grown up and have my own place.. boy was that stupid!

Society allows for ones to work in the post office but frowns upon driving a truck for a major company like Coca-Cola, because the possibility that one may have a route that goes to a military base for instance.
That's, like, a really stupid rule in the first place. My cousin never caught crap from the dubs bc he was driving a Budweiser truck.
Guess he was giving some of the elders the hook-up.

Now I know it is not unanimous but I have heard of JW liquor store owners selling cigs and lotto tickets with no reprisal. I guess like all things it depends on the elders.
Another weird thing is JW nurses can give abrotions and blood transfusions but a JW DR can't prescribe them. The problem is I doubt in real life JW doctors ever come up against this because they are mostly well off, edjucated, and treatments are confidential by law. Plus docs have practices together so i am sure they just sub out what ever their conscience wont allow much like pro life docs do to abortion.
