I never thought I would be looking for a new church but I am. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I am looking into the Unitarian church. Do any of you attend this church? If so, how do you like it?

If your going to meet people find one that has lots of outings and fun things to do.

But if you looking for a beleif structure I'm afraid I have no recomendations. Except stay away from beleif structures,,they dull the mind.

I looked up their beliefs on their web-site. I didn't agree with their beliefs. If it suits you go for it. I go to a Non-Denominational Christian church, when I go. I'm not that regular maybe once a month or so. I would probably go more often, if I could get my husband or kids to go with me. It's kind of lonely by yourself, there is noone to talk about after....like what did you think about this or that etc.

i just started going to a non-denominational church and i promptly joined a women's bible study group there. I've made friends and enjoy attending every Sunday (they have childcare and all 4 of my kids love it!! yay!!)

sandy, the Unitarians are prolly the most inclusive of the organized religions. We have a great one here in Dallas that I have been to before and even been a part in wedding at their church. Not preachy and very accepting has been my experience with them.

Any denomination will have churches and churches. You gotta try them out to see which kind is for you. If you consider going more mainline, you might like Episcopalian/Anglican if you are considering unitarian.

Almost every time we've moved we switched to another denomination. We generally chose them based on 3 points: could we walk there? do they speak English? do the services start after 10 a.m.? (We stayed in the orthodox/mainline churches, not unitarian, btw.) It wasn't rigorous as far as qualifications go, but we appreciated each church we settled at. We learned a lot.

I've been to many, MANY denominations. As has already been stated, there are good and poor churches within any denomination. Shop around. You don't have to make your presence known, just walk in at the start of the servivce and walk out at the end. If you try one every couple of weeks or so it shouldn't be too onerous. Eventually you're likely to find one that you enjoy. Chances are it may be the very first one you try
