Most things are a choice...it's nice that you can actually meet people through that site by flying to the locations where they have gatherings. (That is, if you weren't capable of finding a community of women to meet already, for free...and can afford a plane ticket.)
I've hooked up with a few people from around the world through the net, though they came here - it didn't cost me a cent. :)
I've met a few people already ... kind nor interesting people from here either ... I'm just the kind that don't stay in touch that much when there's nothing specific to share in common, I'm just waiting for true occasions to share with them, when they and I will be ready to (the number of times doesn't mean that much unless for neighboors to maintain close social realationship)
Anyway structured organisation helps ... in the case of apostofests it could be an official association (somehow those who are working on the plan do function as is) and also each one still have to buy there ticket ... or invite or participate for the bill ... and 60 $ is about the cost 3 meals ... so ... money flies anyway ...
