Five children were born to my parents, William Karl and Mary Adams. The boys were Don, Joel, and Karl.

The reason I ask is that Karl Adams is one of those elusively powerful figures that tend to pop up in big organizations. Like Karl Bormann (a Nazi), Adams was a flunky, a hidden wielder of power unconcerned with his own prestige or fame... and yet he was important enough to get his picture in CoC, and to be a real player in the power struggle between President Knorr and the GB.

Does Donny Boy represent a continuation of the "hidden" power structure within the Borg?

Yes, they are fleshly brothers. If one remembers from reading CoC and ISoCF, they wrote letters to the GB indicating they were well aware of the problems pointed out by R.Franz, and in a way sided with him in so doing, but later on kept quiet and remained.
