Are you a JW Hater?

It suits most JWs and their worldview to believe everyone here is driven by the same brand of negativity towards them that they express towards ``the world," ie.e. the 99.99 percent of non-JW humanity.

The actual reality -- and I believe my atttitude is fairly typical of most disaffected JWs/ex-JWs -- is that if I were called upon to make up a list of the ten finest and ten worst people I've ever met, JWs and ``worldlings" would populate both lists in roughly equal numbers.

Hating the system is far different than hating the people. I love my JW man. I hate the strictures that bind him for no good reason.

There are JW-haters and JW-mockers out there that make JW kids' lives hell, who don't take the time to understand what motivates them to act the way they do, that would stick out their foot and trip them up if they could. But I find very little of that here. More than anywhere else in the world, JWD understands the JW world. Understanding doesn't mean, though, that we lie down and take it.

    absolutely not.

I have only hated 1 person in my lifetime and that happened to be a lying cheating boyfriend... and he wasn't a JW, he was just a pr*ck.

But I dislike the teachings, the ideology, the control issues, etc ... the list goes on... and maybe I dislike the men in control and power at the top... but I don't hate people. Never have, never will.

Some of my best friends are JWs. I may not see them as often as I used to, I still consider them friends and on occasion get together with them. Some of the "friends" at the hall have chosen to not associate with me anymore so I guess they aren't my friends anymore but I still don't hate them. They have been fooled as we once were. Why hate slaves for being enslaved? I hate that they remain in the power of the WTS and wish they could get free.

I don't "hate" the WTS any more than any other organized religion either. I hate that I was fooled by the WTS for so long. I hate losing the years that I lost to them. But at the same time, I can't change the past, but I can control my own future. So I don't worry too much about hating religion or the WTS though it is hard some times.

I love individual Jw's. I hate the watchtower society.

That sums it up for me. I find most of the Witnesses (in my area anyway) are good people. It's unfortunate that they have to live their lives by the dictates of the Society. Why do JWs shun non-Dubs? Not because of their own opinion, but because that's what they're told to do. And the whole pedophile problem? The reason there's a problem is because of the Society. If a letters to the congregations and said plainly "if there is anyone who's accused of molesting children, you have to contact the police immediately. If it's found that this person is guilty, they should be disfellowshipped immediately. Counselling should be provided for the victim(s)", then we all know the elders would comply and so would the congregation. The Governing Body members have A LOT to answer for come Judgement Day.

I don`t hate my family, who some are still JW`s, I just wish they would

have respected me as an individual that could make her own choices, and

maybe lightened up on th noose they kept around my neck especially when

I was older. I couldn`t handle the control they wanted on me daily, I know that`s

a parents job, but not at 18 and 19...!! After I left only then did I realize just how

brainwashed and controlled I had been. I had good friends thru the KH, whose

parents were "somewhat-normal" acting and to this day I believe some of them are

still active members beacuse I know they were allowed to make their own decisions.

Hating takes too much energy. I don't hate either the JW or their organization. There are certain people who need that type of control to feel comfortable in this life. Thats the path they have chosen. If a subject comes up in which they can objectively discuss the topic I will engage. If it denegrades into quoting the sound-bites from Brooklyn, I will just back off usually.

I can't think of anyone I actually hate. I can tell you a few that I actively dislike.

A couple of my best friends are still witnesses, as are a number of people about whom I still care very much, but have lost touch with over the years. I have family members inside, as well. Heck, my lab partner in chem class last year turned out to be a witness, and I liked her none the less after I found out. Some of the best people I know have been witnesses. Truthfully, there are a few individuals I dislike quite a bit, on a personal level.

It's the organization that has them all entrapped, that I resent, not the people themselves.

I still feel like the witnesses are family to me. I loved and was close to my former brothers and sisters. To me....they are STILL brothers and sisters in a weird kinda way. No, I don't hate them at all and never will.

I DO however get pissed off at those who purposely snub my ass to put on a show. Most do not. I think it's human nature to get upset when you are shunned regardless of the fact you know full well why they act that way.

I'll tell you who I DO hate. I hate all those within the Organisation who know full well in their hearts that what they follow and act upon is totally false, yet play a role counter to this and affecting their fellow brothers negatively. Especially if their actions bring harm to others.
