This is what the garbage men left behind today. The dude comes in a truck and presses a button to lift the bin and empty into the truck. Everytime he does all this crap is left over from spilling out of the bin.

Apparently, the city worker doesn't even have to get out of his cushy seat to put excess into the garbage truck. We have to call for special pick up!!!

So, our tax dollars are going to have a special pick up and all that wasted gas come all the way back to our place, when this lazy ass could just get out of his truck and throw it in?

Also, he usually leaves this long trail of garbage down the driveway!

    WTF!!

Anybody else ever have a garbage problem?

    Yea, that happens every week.

If your in an apartment complex then its their problem to see who has to clean it up.

    Truely sucks ass!

Yes, in Birmingham where I am originally from its the same situation, they dont take any bags that are not placed inside the bin, any spillage is left there, they dont lift any bins or anything, it is annoying. Now in Somerset they take everything, even the crisp packet that blows about.

Is that I-894 in the background? This might have been part of the territory for my old hall.

I fear our "garbage pick-up" situation is much worse.

We have 3 types of garbage. Regular household refuse, Recyclable, and Green Bin.

The colection for the first two is done by a private company for our apartment complex and is done quite well (except on moving weekends). The Green Bin pickup is done by the city on an every two weeks basis. The contents of this bin involves ALL organic waste including vegetables, meat, bones, dirty kleenex and paper towels, fats, and several other items.

This bin is full by the 2nd day after pick-up. Depositing organic waste is a mandatory by-law of the city.

The Green Bin is alive many times. It is disgusting.

Sometimes I throw up in my mouth a little bit putting stuff in it. I just did thinking of it.

Send the photo you have to your city or county supervisor and demand better service. Request an acknowledgement of your correspondence within two weeks. If you don't get one in that amount of time send everything on to the next highest level . . it'll take a while but sooner or later someone will do something; and keep copies of everything. Sounds like a pain ,however , being someones pain- in -the- butt can be fun.

    Good luck,

I called the Department of Public Works and spoke with a sanitation supervisor.

He says that they will monitor our dumpster and if we indeed need another one they can force the landlord to provide a larger or secondary bin.

    Well see what happens.

Hmmm, last week our garbage man left a home-printed Christmas Card on each of our recycling bins in our neighborhood wishing us a Happy Holiday!
