Can you please explain Scripturally the difference between the domestics and the faithful and discreet slave?....Since the Bible says there will be a ressurection of both the righteous and unrighteous, why will the men of Sodom not be ressurected? (Does God hate homosexuals more than others?).......Why did Jesus talk to tax collectors and harlots but "true Christians" cannot?

I used these on my cousin when she was still hanging onto "the truth".

    1. When Jesus ascended to heaven, who did he appoint as his successor? (no one is the correct answer)

    2. Who did he say he was sending to assist them in the future? (the helper............holy spirit)

    3. Who has made themselves Jesus' successor on earth today? (the answer is obvious, but they don't want to say it)

there are some good questions already here. one really important thing is to try to answer the questions JW style, before you use them in real life. it's better to ask only one good question than 20 good questions along with one bad question. if one question goes wrong, they'll pick on it. they'd say, "see, and all your other questions can be answered in a similar way". one bad argument destroys all of your good ones. thus you have to be very selective.

never mention any ex-jw literature, never mention the internet by the way. that's why the 607 B.C. theme comes in so handy - because even the history books the society uses differ on that (go check the insight books on sources). only use questions you could have stumbled over while studying the bible or reading the watchtower literature. that's the only way a JW would listen to you... because most of them have at least a few doubts.

Min, Three excellent simple questions, but regarding this:

Since the Bible says there will be a ressurection of both the righteous and unrighteous, why will the men of Sodom not be ressurected? (Does God hate homosexuals more than others?)?

I remember being told by the P.O. that because Jehovah destroyed Sodom himself the people there were already judged, so wouldn't get a resurrection. I asked "But what about all the children? And what about all the children in the flood?" He replied " Jehovah can read hearts!" So, Jehovah knew they were all going to grow up to be evil and so he wiped them off the face of the earth - yet how many children have grown up to become model citizens! Ian

If the criteria is that Jehovah doesn't ressurect those he directly kills, why will Judas not get ressurected? He killed himself!

    sorry Dansk,

From experience I know that they will not listen to anything you have to say; no matter how interlligently it is presented.

I do not know of anything that will work against a zealous witness.

if only they would listen! ... The family discussions always come to my being dismissed as 'mad', 'demonised' or 'depressed'... however:-

1] I was baptised in the 1950's, others in the family have served since before the World War. All of us were told to expect armageddon at any time soon. We knew for a 'fact' that it had to come within the lifetime of the 1914 generation. Originally the Organisation taught that the time of the end began in 1874 and all would be over in 1914. Then the end was forecast in 1925. We all know about 1975. Where do we stand now? for many decades the WTS has taught things that have proved to be false. Q} How does that square with Deut 18.22 ? (test of a true prophet} Can we really expect a 'spirit directed ' organisation to make these crass errors?

2] Despite the fuzzy statements for the benefit of the general public, any real witness knows full well that one must be "In the truth" to have a hope of surviving Armageddon (agreed?) Cast your mind back to the most tragic death of a young person. How did you feel? Angry? hurt? disgusted? .. If that is how we feel, how does Jehovah feel? Q] Can we really support the view that this loving God will slaughter billions of young and old simply because their families were brought up in the 'wrong religion' ?

3] Can you please explain to me why it is acceptable to receive all but the four main componants and whole blood, if God has designated blood as sacred? Why is it acceptable to take it in its constituent parts, but not as one whole substance? Why is it right to accept the product of the National Blood Transfusion Servace and yet wrong to donate blood in return? If the "soul is in the blood" which fraction contains the soul?

PS Good to hear from you Dansk!

The JWs will say: "Because, by going against Jesus, he injured the spirit!" Which means no resurrection!

    Franklin J:

I tend to agree – but some JWs are borderline. It is good for one to be ready to help such ones

Hi BluesBrother. Great to hear from you, also!

Deut 18.22 is a great scripture to use and is the one my son, Karl, seriously considered before exiting.

how does Jehovah feel? Q] Can we really support the view that this loving God will slaughter billions of young and old simply because their families were brought up in the 'wrong religion' ?

An elder told me Jehovah doesn’t want good people he wants loyal people. And remember, there’s that old "Jehovah can read hearts" routine, so death to all children of worldly people!

Regarding the blood. I agree entirely, but the Watchtower was explicit in stating it is a conscience issue and that one JW should not judge another JW if he/she takes or refuses blood components.

It’s a case of the organisation tying up all ends – and enmeshing their followers in the string!

I would say, "Give SCRIPTURAL PROOF that Judas sinned against the spirit". No scripture says that.

You're right - but they'll just say one doesn't need scriptural proof because the sin was obvious. Jesus was Jehovah's son - whom he delighted in - and therefore blessed with his spirit. It'll be the same for the Pharasees and probably Pilate. Ian
