This may be overly simplistic but, does truth change?
Mega, good stuff.
1. If you believe that the Governing Body is God's representative and true prophet on earth in this day and age, then why do they keep changing the dates for the time of the end and changing interpretations of prophecy???
2. If you are told that the UN is the image of the wild beast and is part of the satanic wild beast and will be destroyed by Jehovah, then why were they members for 10 years? In fact taking an oath that is contrary to what is spoken in the bible as to neutrality was in fact a statement excepting them JW to adhere to the UN in every aspect of loyalty to them and USA and all nations that are part of that organization.
3. Why did JW allow the congregations of people in Malawi to be persecuted and killed for not carring a party card, and allowed them to die for this, how do they the GBody, justify that Witnesses in Mexico were paying bribe moneys to political officials so that witnesses could cary on in their work. Why were KHs in Mexico call community recreational centers rather then Kingdom halls of JW. No witness ever died there but you allowed thousands in africa to die....

1. a. How do we know the New Testament has been correctly transmitted to us?
1. b. Why does "Jehovah" only appear in the NWT version of the New Testament?
2. a. Why did Jesus and his disciples transgress the sabbath law according to the Gospels (Matthew 12//)?
2. b. Why would you refuse a blood transfusion even if it might save a life?

3. b. Why shouldn't you do the same thing?
Who cares about the Pharoh's Baker?

1. a. (They have "a" and "b" parts in the WT questions, so can I) Using only the Bible, prove that Jerusalem was destroyed in 607bce.
b. Using only the Bible, prove that Jesus returned to earth invisibly in 1914.
c. Using only the Bible, prove that in 1918 that Jesus chose the Bible Students(later, JWs) as God's organization.
2. Prove from the Bible that Jesus is mediator only for the anointed and not for all who wish to gain salvation.
3. a. Are religions who become entangled with the world governments accepted by Jehovah?
b. What will happen to religions who align themselves with worldly governments?
c. Since the United Nations is part of the worldl governmental system and has been identified as the Wild Beast or the Image of the Wild Beast by the Watchtower Society, why did the Watchtower Society become affliated with the UN as an NGO(Non Governmental Organization)?
edited 'cause I don't know my abc's.

Outaservice (trying to think of more good questions)
There were some excellent replies to this thread. esp Megadude, narkissos, etc.
Q If it's Jehovah's organisation, why does it make so many mistakes?
A. Because we're just imperfect etc etc
Q. How much of "the truth" will be changed in the future?
A. We don't know but the light is getting brighter and all that stuff.
Q. Then would it be fair to disfellowship someone who believed something which wasn't present truth but would be in the future ?
A. Loyalty to the organisation etc etc
Thank you for everyone’s contribution here. As you can see, it’s not that easy to pick three good questions – because the JW is unlikely to be reasonable enough to listen. I think Ozzie is on the button. The JW will just counter with a conditioned response.
To be fair, I did say I wanted questions for a JW who would actually listen. I’m beginning to think that’s more and more unlikely – especially when I am expecting they might listen to me, someone who has been ‘marked’!
I would still appreciate more questions being added to this list because I believe they are most helpful. I tried using the "607BCE cannot possibly be the date for the fall of Jerusalem" routine on an elder and was gobsmacked when he just replied that he knew the society had worked backwards from 1914 to arrive at the date, but that it didn’t change anything!
I have the Live Forever book here (large copy), the only JW book I kept because it is the one Claire and I used when we were studying in the mid-1980s. I kept it in the vain hope that I would be able to show that pages 139-141were absolute nonsense (these speak of the ‘Seven Gentile Times’) and also page 154, which talks of Armageddon and how "some of the generation living in 1914 will see the end of the system of things and survive it." Of course, the society has now reneged on this saying that new light (yes, more of it!) has shown that this is referring to a bad generation that will always be with us (so, in other words, the last days can go on for ever). But what about the poor old souls who have been trudging about in all weathers - and after sacrificing the best part of their lives - for decades, living on the false hope that they will never die?

Then send him to Carl Olof Jonsson's books for the answers.
This wouldn’t work by virtue of the fact that Jonsson (at least in my copy of his book) actually mentions his disfellowshipping. One look at that and the JW would probably cry "Apostasy!"
If anyone has a copy of the Awake! From 22 May 1969, pages 14-15, there’s an article entitled ‘ What Future for the Young?’ This article directs young ones NOT to further their education because this system will be destroyed before they finish their courses. Once again, the society has changed its stance and hundreds of thousands of young ones who could have made excellent careers are likely now to be working harder to earn a living and doing menial work, such as cleaning windows!

Excellent question! Hope your are doing ok now mate.
Thank you for your kind thoughts. I could be better, but I’ve been a lot worse!
At this time of year I look back and think of all the fantastic Christmases we and the children could have had together; of how I know their eyes would have beamed and their mouths widened from ear to ear with excitement and anticipation on looking upon the Christmas tree that boldly stands in front of our livingroom window now, flashing its happy lights to everyone in the street. I love Christmas, but my heart almost breaks when I think what could have been. Alas, I cannot change the past, so must strive for a happier future. If I ever have grandchildren.................
Please keep the questions coming. It’s obvious people here are benefiting.
Love,
Ian
Since the JW's supposedly live as the early Christians why don't they live as a community and put all their money, food and belonging together for equal sharing? We know that the Holy Spirit holy spirit killed Ananias for withholding a bit from the community so why do we see JW's in California driving SUV's and living in seaside mansions, while other JW's live in hut with no running water?
