Do your pets miss you when you leave them? I think my dog misses her master, (My Boyfriend) I miss him too.

He is away, in China for two weeks. He left this past friday. Tonight the dog (Phoebe) has planted herself by the front door. She is asleep right now but looks so sad. Last night she was sniffing his house shoes right before she plopped herself down for the night at the front door.

She looks so sweet. I really believe she misses her master. Who could blame her?

AWWWWWWWWW.....I know pets miss "their people" while they are gone. When I was 13, some dumb circumstances made it so that I left my house one day and did not see it again for two years....My Beagle dog, Dixie, never stopped looking in my room, I hear. And she would sleep by the door, like your doggie, waiting for her person to come home. She slept there for two years, and now that I am home she sleeps wherever. Usually by me. That's sad Just give the doggie extra attention and some treats and it will help perk her up.

I had to take a road trip that only lasted about 8 hours this morning, but I am SO paranoid about leaving "my babies" home alone. I always run through the house a few times to make sure there are no fire hazards and that they have food and water and the doors are locked.

Your doggie will come out of it. Just give her extra attention and fun stuff to do.

I agree that pets do react to their owners absence. In the past five years I have been gone from home about a year. Sometimes 8 weeks at a stretch. My cat would react the same way each time I returned. She was pissy for about a week, then would slowly start to let me pet her again and after several weeks she would forgive me and be OK. If I take a day and just hang around the house, she is in a playful mood all day. My daughter's cat carries on if her master is gone more than a day. After three days that cat hangs in my room and sits with me. My cat is visibly unhappy about it and give the other one a hard time, eating her food and taking her napping spots in the house. If we are both home they are great to each other and seem very content. These two cats are a hoot to watch!

Awwww, Mav, knowing you are such a keen lover and observer of your kitties touches my heart! I love kitties too, and mine definitely miss me. When I come home from work, His Portliness, Trouble, is sitting looking out the back patio door for the first glimpse of me..........of course, some of that is also in anticipation of his getting fed, but, then he and Blackie, the female are on me, around me, in the bathroom with me all night.........wherever I go, they are there, talking to me, asking for water to be run in the tub for them to drink, and curling up beside me on my queen size bed, where I watch TV til I go to sleep...........it's wonderful and so peaceful.........

Yes, my little babe Phoebe is sooooo Sweet. I cannot believe the way I gush over her. The email I wrote to my boyfriend today was all about her.

I swear the way I have been talking about her lately you would think she was a actual child. I wish I had pictures to post of her.

She is a full grown Lab-mix all black with the cutest puppy dog face.

Every time I go out my cat runs down the stairs like " Mommy take me with you". I took him for a ride in my truck the other day and he loved it. Most cats don't like going in vehicles, well my guy loved it. He's my little main man. Now he wants to go in the truck every time I grab my keys. The little sweetheart. I love my kitty cat. He's my baby. I only got him a month ago, approx. from the SPCA and he is fitting in with the family quite nicely. I feed him out of fine china. My friend says I have to. Please! But hey, she insists. Who am I to argue with my friend. She'll beat me up! I'm shaking!

My friend is actually my tenant next door! I was at her place today! This is quite funny! Her cats, she has 2, consider her bedroom their domain(boudoir)as we call it! My daughter was sleeping on the bed, well the one cat, fuzzbutt, she was really put out. She was huffing around the house. She usually never comes out of the bedroom. My friend says to her husband." What's the matter with fuzzy" Well her food dishes are put up due to my 18mo old, her bed is being slept in. This is one po'd kitty. It was so funny. My friend and I just started laughing and pet the kitty like crazy. She was just one unhappy cat. The kid had taken over her kitty domain. She always gets like that when my daughters over. It's hilarious. You should see when we bring my cat to visit. Now that's priceless! The two female cats are on the floor and the male cat has the whole bed! Man oh man! Literally! 2 female cats growling and my male cat sleeping without a care in the world!!! It sounds too close to real life!

    That is cute story RHCP.

I have a story about my doggie.

Last night about 2 a.m. I woke to go tinkle. I checked on the dog as I always do. She wasn't in her bed. I looked all around the apartment and couldn't see her. I knew I didn't leave her outside. I started to panic. I thought to myself someone came in here and took her. As silly as this sounds it crossed my mind.

I went to the living room again and there she was, sleeping like a queen on the new sofa.
