My dogs are practically always in the same room as I am. When I go upstairs to my bedroom or to the computer room (I am doing my work at home), a few minutes later the youngest two are following me upstairs - one always managed to squeeze herself under my desk (in a very tiny place) and the other is laying in the portal between the 2 rooms.
The third (eldest one) is afraid to go upstairs. I think he has a trauma: every time in the past when I forced him to go upstairs - oh horror - he had to go under the shower. When I am in the bedroom, Daisy & Misty are both sleeping in front of my (open) door.
When I have to leave them at home for some reason (most of the time I am taking all three with me and left them in the car - which is oke for them) they don't know how to curl around me and jump on me to show me how glad they are that I am back......
Several years ago I was working on Monday upstairs in an office with carpet on the floor and the rest of the week in my office downstairs with rubber on the floor . Uhleska was a young puppy then and was'nt trusted to alarm me in time when he had to go "out" He was'nt barking or peeping, he was only walking in circles for the door and looking to me and beeing at work, I not always noticed it. So on Monday I left him at my mother's place. She several times told me that he was looking the whole day to the door where I disappeared.......
It was never my intention to have more then 1 dog, but I am just happy that I got the other 2 too.
I do have so much fun with them.
