SweetP,
Remember you are but a number in regards to the jw's.... You will be tracked and counted.....
the way to break loose and be heard is to leave completly. Your voice is relevant and meaningful only if you insist it be so.....
your reasons are your own, and i respect them. i wouldn't go, even to use the facilitlies. i'd soil myelf first. but... we all do what we have to do. hey, be sure to wear sumthin cute:
and try to remember what happend when cpt. picard went to the borg ship... he got a ssimilated . i hope it brings you the closure you need. good luck!
I haven't entered a Kingdom Hall since 1966. Perish the thought.
There is a word of caution here, particularly if you were a baptized publisher. If you go to the meetings, even only occassionally, the elders will regard you as being under their authority.
I was totally regular in meeting attendance and field service, etc. right up to the last meeting attended. But since then have only stepped back in to the hall once at the memorial (there are reasons for this). Hence, I consider myself no longer under the authority of the congregation. The longer this goes on, the freer I can become to speak my mind and not risk being disfellowshipped for apostacy (would cause family problems) - I am no longer under their authority and show it by not associating at all. Gloating does not come into for me. If you are free, then enjoy it.

Good point eyeslice - I feel the same way. In fact there is some legal issue here, that I read in the 'elders handbook' - I have been absent from the meetings for the most of two years , minus a period of about three weeks a little over a year back - before I really knew the truth bout the truth. I am tempted at times to go to a meeting - carry in my NIV Bible - get there just after song and prayer - and leave before the end - but I do not want to give them a chance to reassert power over me - same issue w/ family in still.

also if you go even to one meeting the elders may ask you for a meeting right then and there. you may inadvertantly find yourself facing a judicial commitee. so be prepared.
Is it for sweet revenge? Guest77
Dont do it!!! They'll hrow their JU-JU at you again and reconvert you...run!!! run for the hills!!!!!
If you go, have your head held high. Instead of looking at them with disgust, though, (this gets old fast) how about a big smile? Introduce yourself to all the unbaptized newcomers, shake their hands (they don't know they're supposed to shun you) and whisper "Silentlambs" or "Check out the Internet" in their ear. Big smile, warm handshake. Let them wonder why their study leader is body-checking you out of the picture.
For sure, bring some distracting activities like a notebook and several colors highlighters. I find I can zone out the drone-talk by doodling my own stuff. Like writing "AS IF" in big block letters over the study materials in bold pink highlighters. If something makes you REALLY angry, make a long, slow trip to the lavatory.
Works for me.
