No, they are saying that Jael didn't go to heaven either. She is only mentioned because she is called "blessed among women" like the Virgin Mary in Judges 5:24. A bit of a strawman, anyway, since there is no a priori relationship between being called "blessed" and being able to ascend to heaven.

Oh, I see it now. For some reason at first glance the wording had me believe that they were saying the opposite. The wording of WT articles is often so orchestrated that it sometimes over-complicates a simple statement.

    OMG Englishman,

When I read stuff like this it seems so surreal to me now. I admit I had to look this one up this on the WT CD to make sure you were not making this stuff up. I remember studying this book, but I don't recall any of this stuff (Must have blocked it out.) Interesting it was under the chapter entitled "What will you personally do?" and under the subtitle "They made the right decision." This is some real sicko stuff here. This woman was a heartless cold blooded murderer, but she is being applauded as being righteous by the Org. When you read the titles here and the content I really wonder where the WT is leading people. Unbelievable!

*** my story 50 Two Brave Women ***

    Story

    50: Two Brave Women

WHEN the Israelites get into trouble, they cry out to Jehovah. Jehovah answers them by giving brave leaders to help them. The Bible calls these leaders judges. Joshua was the first judge, and some of the judges after him were named Oth´ni·el, E´hud and Sham´gar. But two of the people who help Israel are women named Deb´o·rah and Ja´el. <snip>

After awhile Sis´e·ra comes to the tent of Ja´el. She invites him in, and gives him some milk. This makes him sleepy, and soon he is fast asleep. Then Ja´el takes a tent pin and drives it into this bad man?s head. Later, when Ba´rak comes, she shows him the dead Sis´e·ra! So you can see that what Deb´o·rah said came true.

The Jael bible account exults treachery, so much for bible morals.

First off, Jael did, of course, go to heaven with everyone else, according to the WT. I was wrong about the bit about her going straight away. I was just trying to point out that according to the Survival book, a murdress is being promoted as some sort of wonderful person.

There are many things that bugged me about the WT when I was a teenager, the approval of Jael being one of them. So I went rooting for more info.

Thanks again for all the good wishes,

    Englishman.

I can't imagine the WT says Jael ever went to heaven....the dubs' "heavenly hope" wasn't open when she died.

Isn't it nice to forget the WT teaching?

Yet, was not Mary blessed or favored? Yes, but interestingly, the woman named Jael back in the days of Israel’s judges was considered to be "blessed among women." (Judges 5:24, Dy) Certainly no one would argue that Jael too was taken bodily into heaven. Besides, the whole idea of the Assumption is based on the premise that Jesus himself ascended to heaven in the flesh. However, the Bible says that Jesus was "enlivened," or resurrected, "in the spirit." (1 Peter 3:18, Dy; compare 1 Corinthians 15:45.) The apostle Paul further says that "flesh and blood cannot possess the kingdom of God."—1 Corinthians 15:42-50, Dy.<<<<<<<<<<
