I get that now, and what a gift!

Little Witch: What a nice post!

To quote old blue eyes: "Regrets, I had a few, but then again, too few to mention."

We all have regrets, but it's counterproductive to dwell on them. As LW expressed it, we are free now and have been given a gift to use wisely.

I have said this on many similar threads. But I regret all the missed opportunities for myself and my children.

But, everyone and everything turned out so well, that I shouldn't regret a thing.

As Franklin said...no real friendship opportunities....I miss having school ties....I was never allowed to really bond with any of my worldly friends....I wish I could get in contact with some just to let them know what I was going through.

I also missed college...my grandfather would have paid for all 4 years...and my mother would have allowed it, with a 'but if it agrees with your conscience to do so, you can go, just remember what it could do to your spirituality'......if only I were stronger back then with myself....oh well, I did go to pioneer school....

My two biggest regrets in life are tied to this question.

    1) My parents bribed me with a car to leave highschool after my sophomore year to go into the ministry. Afterall I had enough education to become a pioneer or wife. They had already bought the car. They threatened to sell it. I was a 3.4 gpa student without even trying! I had JW friends and "worldly" friends at school. I really mourned my loss come September of what would have been an awesome junior year at school.

PS That fall my dad bought me a really kewl field ministry car.... a 67 Ford Mustang 302 V3 4 speed with holly carb.

    2) That I didn't back out of my marriage when I found a JW man to marry. I began to see some really red flags. But the invitations had already been sent. So I didn't bother bringing up my concerns with my mom.

All other regrets I may have pale by comparasan as these two events were pivital in my life. I since got my GED at 20 on the first try. In my late 20-s and early 30-s I was working toward my AS in Computer Information Systems and had a 3.92 gpa. Didn't finish it, as I took a position where I was traveling - doing computer training around the US and Canada. Then I got sick and collapsed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibro Myalgia. I'm thankful it's just a royal pain and not deadly.

    Happy Holidays y'all

    Brenda

I regret that we didn't have the courage to get out of all that crap a long long time ago.

    Better now than later though.

Well said, littlewitch. You hit the nail on the head!
