People might like to sit in the front rows of a large auditorium because it is easier to see while still not being conspicuous because of the large number of people. In a smaller setting one can see from rows further back and sitting up front in a small format will make one more conspicuous (especially getting up to go to the bathroom, ect).

Sometimes we do take our suspicions a little too far.

Criticism? Yes; I have EARNED the right to be critical.

Franklin - I feel the same. 30 years baptized, and b4 that all I knew back to 5 yrs old - I have 45 years of it in my system - some times one needs to regurgitate!!!

    Just My Opinion

    SOJ,

I was a ministerial servant and elder for decades and as others here, I have earned the right to be critical because I now know the REAL truth.......and the REAL truth is that I was deceived for all those decades of being a faithful "suck up". But at least I knew how to spell "ASSEMBLY" because I went to dozens and dozens of them and even gave talks at stadiums and arenas.

Your comments seem extemely critical and negative. I personally like to sit near the platform in assamblys

Yeah.......I'm being petty about this but you need to get an open mind of the type you preach to every person you meet at a door.

Your comments seem extemely critical and negative. I personally like to sit near the platform in assamblys because it helps keep my concentration on the program. I really don't care if I'm seen sitting in the front or not.

Way back when I used to go to assemblies they used to reserve the front rows for those who were deaf and dumb.

    ARE YOU DEAF...or....

Hhhmmmm.... I guess SoJ isn't planning on getting in his Field Service (tm) time over the holidays (perhaps because s/he is a fraidy cat) so s/he is putting in time by making a few quick "hit-and-run" posts which are off topic and which s/he won't stick around to debate (again, perhaps because s/he is a fraidy cat).

The topic, my dear, sweet, SoJ, (a Hebrew word meaning "one who gets in their time by posting on the internet" was the asking about LOVE, or the seeming LACK thereof. Do you, SoJ, have any experiences where "the Friends" acted in a matter unbecoming of Christians?

Come on, surely you have something ON TOPIC to add to this thread? Or perhaps your time is now complete for the month. If that is the case, have a good month, we'll see you in January!

As my eyes get opened wider, I can't help but notice the Dub tendency to continue to look at the outward appearance (ie' "priveleges") as the barometer for giving any credability to ANY statement- even so called "apostate" remarks. As if, if you've never had "priveleges", you're not a good judge of good or bad or when you're being lied to. Remember when you'd be saying something in a group of Dub's that "out-ranked" you (been around longer/ had more privilages, longer), the only way to be heard was to say, "Well I heard a CO say (or pio or Bethelite, or Missionary etc.), such and such..." in order to get yourself heard without being poo-poo'd or given "counsel" if someone took issue with what you said?

A lie is a lie, period. And most of us have been lied to repeatedly over a long period of time. But if there are people out there that are quicker on the draw than I was GOOD FOR THEM. I hope no one prolongs the agony of being a slave to the WTS any longer than necessary. I think I was too "polite", to change sooner. Now I've got a very abrasive edge- it serves to protect me. If you like being a slave- well I'm sure God still loves you too, but how can he use you? Just another thought.

Seems like around here, the fight for seats was for the outside rows, and the front rows were only desireable for the LEGROOM. My elder step father would use his "privliged" position to get in early, and reserve us seats that we did not have to trip over anyone to get up, and had plenty of legroom. This was hard for him, because EVERYBODY wanted those seats too. Most desireable was the front rows of the upper decks. That way, you was far enough away, and could still strech out, plus far less stairs to climb.

For if a man with gold rings and in fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, and you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, "Have a seat here, please," while you say to the poor man, "Stand there," or, "Sit at my feet," have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts? .
