It melted quickly on the roads in the metroplex, and then just as quickly froze to an invisible glaze on the overpasses. SlipnSlidemasters all over town on the evening commute.
We're getting sleet and snow here in North Texas!

Bridges and overpasses are all Slippy.
Clear skies tonight, but it's going to get cold tonight so all that moisture will freeze solid by morning. I've got time off, so I may not go into work tomorrow.

Well we've had a windy day. And tonight we may get freezing temps!!!! I don't miss snow or having to plug in my car so it will start in the mornings... Now the only thing I need to scrape off my windshield is tree sap. But I do sometimes wax nostalgic for "the look" of winter. Except for Western boots I haven't had on a pair of boots since the 20th century.
I hope my friends in north Texas will make it down here this sunday (these are post-jw friends who still can't believe we were JWS) I guess their hot tub is frozen over tonight...

One Amarillo radio station precicted we could go as low as -3 here in the Panhandle friday morning.. Where is global warming when you need it ??

Just to show you how big this storm is, we're getting blasted here in Southern Ontario from the same storm as you, like you wouldn't believe. There's got to be a foot of snow on the ground, it keeps changing from snow, to ice pellets, back to snow..........it's windy and cold and rotten and miserable.......it's so heavy you can't even shovel this shit..........GAAAAAAA!!!

north dallas reporting in. yes it is cold today, and i still have snow on the ground but roads are generally ok. last night the news said there were 160+ accident caused by the ice alone. I just stayed home today b/c i can't afford the deductible on my car.

Central Texas Panhandle reporting. We've been getting light snow since before daylight and it continues as I'm typing this. I would guess we have some four inches right now on the ground. and they are predicting some very cold weather tonight. Bug

Here's a pic of our drive from earlier today. We live on a pretty good sized hill so now we're waiting to get plowed out the rest of the way. Even 4WD can't always get you out.

You know I laughed when I first watched "The Day After Tomorrow", but with all the severe weather we have had already this season, it dosen't seem as preposterous as I had first thought.
