With friends like this who needs enemies?

Just seemed appropriate- I've got a similar (and very hair raising!) experience. My problem is do I take the time to write that debacle down here or do I find a publishing company that wil give me 4 Harry Potter size volumes, to write about it in?

Nobody would believe it anyway because truth is stanger than fiction!

I also like the phrase: All that is necessary for evil to triumph- is for good men to do NOTHING!

Sad but true- hang in there homie... Smiley Shell

I have assured her that our creator is not how he is painted by the JW's, come on, why would he destroy everyone else but not JW's, Over the past year I have met many many genuine people who are not JW, its those ones who have really cared for me, will god destroy them ?

When I was at the stage you're at, I began corresponding with an exelder/exbethelite. I asked him if he thought billions of good people would really be destroyed at Armegeddon. I asked him if he really believed that those who died in the flood would not get a resurrection. He told me this:

The more people saved by Christ's ransom, the more valuable it becomes. To waste untold billions of good people would devalue the life he gave up vastly.

Makes a lot of sense to me. If only a tiny bit of people survive Armegeddon then it makes Satan look like he's mostly right, doesn't it?

You are about to learn wonderous things. I didn't read this second page of this thread yet. I hope someone recommended that you find a copy of Crisis Of Conscience by Raymond Franz and read it. The rest of the scales on your eyes will drop off. You'll see. You are about to find out what true spiritual freedom really is.

Have I betrayed Jehovah ? Have I sided with Satan ? The answers !!!!

Betrayed, welcome to a better world. You already have the biggest answers, believe it or not~~.

I love God, I love people, I love life, but I do not love the organisation of Jehovahs witnesses and I no longer see how this organisation bears fruit which identifies it as Gods representative on earth.

Just stick with that much, and you will find it's a more solid spiritual foundation than the precise dogma you've had to keep in step with all these years. You have a better handle on truth: simple, enduring.

I hope you'll take heart in reading people's testimonies here, that after the seemingly endless turmoil, there really comes a settling time. So, relax with a or or (my favorite) .

There are a lot of great folks here, I'm sure you'll soon agree. If you're really from Scotland, you'll be glad to know that there's at least one great guy posting from there as well: Little Toe.

(BTW, I would also recommend the other book by Ray Franz at some point as well, In Search of Christian Freedom. When you have your landlegs back.)

    Betrayed,

Just wanted to mirror what everyone else said. It is very difficult when your family shuts you out. I am shunned by my parents and I am "only" inactive. My dad has not spoken to me in 3 years now and honestly. . . . I have felt the pain lessen with time. It doesn't bother me as much as the days go by. You may also find out that any worldly friends you may make will more than likely be more loyal to you than your "so called" JW friends.

I am sorry for your mistreatment -- please stick around this site; you will find much encouragement just reading other people's stories and issues that we all deal with.

    Best to you.

I know what you mean. I've only been here for about 6 weeks and feels more like home than my condo does...! Glad to have this opportunity to 'meet' you. -Aude.

Betrayedbyall, you can definitely consider it a blessing to have discovered this forum. I was isolated for 7 yrs after being df'd for "a pause to see" until I found the xjw websites online and discovered the inadequacies of the WTS religious sect. You'll love it here and you'll come to love the people on this forum, their candor, warmth, humor and support.

Welcome to JWD, Betrayedbyall. You're fixin' to experience a huge awakening! Why....it's like a resurrection to life.

    Hugs,

    Frannie B
