I truly believe the Internet to be almost as important as the invention of the printing press - in the coming years bandwith will continue to be the big push - you can never have enough bandwidth

I love my computer and I love the internet.
All my friends live there. -

Makes the world so much smaller than what it actually is. Brings the world to your fingertips. Makes communication with all of you much easier. Slightly antiseptic, but that just might be what's needed, as we would often be a lot quicker to judge, and incorrectly so, had we all been required to physically be in each others prescense. Though I look forward to meeting many of you at an Apostafest someday. Ciao

I kinda like the "information overload" myself, it makes me feel even dizzier than usual. That being said, its a thriving arena for e-postates so I guard my kids from using it.

It Is taking too long to exploit it,
it has created an extreme digital divide around the globe.
AND those NOW left out can be considered just the same as those that decades ago could not "read and wirte",
despite the fact even with broadband, at present we are only using about 5 percent of its potential.

Having spent almost ten years using it, I can say that I would find my life a lot more difficult without it, in many ways because in my life and work I need to find out information, and often there is no other way that information could be found at that time, or in time, than by using the net. Also as I spend so much time away from family & friends it is my most important means of communication. I can handle banking online regardless of where I am, I can buy things and have them sent wherever I want, I learned to type form chatting to people years ago.
For me it is truly a tool of life, I cart a laptop with me whenever I am away, and so wherever I plug in I can take care of things securely, without that computer and net access, it would cost a fortune in calls and heaven knows how much time. Ultimately without the net I would have to do less of the things I do, and in many ways my life is structued around the fact that I will be able to get online at some point. It saves money as well, a lot of money, simple things like driving to the bank to arrange something, I can do online, paying for postage of letters or phone calls or faxes. I can do it all online quicker and easier. Dumping a girlfriend... You got it !
All this being said I do not think the internet knows everything, and I think it is fully loaded with bullshit and blog wisdom, so I'm cautious about internet facts, I usually only trust a source I can verify offline, but it's good for instant gratification of general questions as well as being a very versatile functional tool.

I have learned more from the Internet than from any other sourse, on so many subjects that I have lost count. The Jehovah's Witness's leaders hate the Internet because it is informative more than the Awake and they can't stop the RF from useing it, their magazines eather scared the hell out of me or bored me to death. The mind was ment to think with out the Borg messing with the lights inside.

After hearing about the Watchtower's legal actions against the Watchtower Observer and Quotes sites, I have to say,
THE INTERNET ROCKS!
APOSTATES RULE!
This is the same kind of stuff that the Scientologists did when ex-members told the truth about their cult experiences on the Cult Awareness Network. Like the JWs, they are afraid to have any opposing viewpoint freely available on the Internet to anyone with access to a computer and a little privacy.
The Internet is the best thing ever to happen to people trapped in religious cults. It is our best hope of reaching our families with the real truth about these mind control programs posing as religions. And it is working!
