The hospital chaplain just called. My baby's body has been returned to the hospital following post-mortem examination at a specialist children's hospital. So, the funeral can go ahead soon.
We have opted for a cremation. With such a small baby, there may not be any ashes, but if there are, there is a "baby garden" where they will be scattered.
Now we have to think about the content and format of the funeral. We can choose music, bible readings and prayers. My parents are JWs, but I am sure they will come. Grant's parents are nominal Church of England, I think. Grant and I are not religious. Well, I enjoy religion, but I am atheist.
I don't know where to begin. What scripture readings are appropriate for this? What music? I don't want it to be maudlin. Proverbs 3? Any thoughts?
