The congregation secretary has all of the records kept for each publisher. The file basically consists of a publisher's card that has on it your birthdate, whether your a baptized or unbatized publisher, date of baptism, your service records (hours, mags, RVs, for each month), and if it applies whether you're also anointed or inactive.
On top of that basic file, they'll keep any info that has to do with your being reproved or disfellowshipped or your letter of DAing, and they'll als may possess copies of correspondence you sent to WTS headquarters (HQ likes to send copies of them to your congregation's elders particularly if they are insolent --- isn't that nice of them?) __________________
Now I know why they didn't like me being in that study room part of the KH recently* -- that's probably where they keep the flaming records.
(*Yeah, I use to go recently, I might talk about this some other time.)
This might be a stupid question but do elders have records kept on them as well? Or do they have this position in the church where they are some sort of "Perfect special class," and no one can and will keep records on them because they are "special people/"
Sorry about the posts not being quoted properly, I have it under control now.
Welcome. They even keep a record of you being disfellowshipped and what you were disfellowshipped for at 'bethel' after you die.
Sick.

The publisher's record card and files are on everyone, even the elders. They track the exact same data. I forgot to mention that on the card it would also state whether you're a ministerial servant or elder and the date you were appointed as such.

Right. Thanks. Do you think that in other religious groups would do this to? Such as Catholics, 7th Days, Muslims, Buhddists...
Someone told me that they didn't like the record keeping but they thought maybe they are doing it because of "evil people," "outsiders" who are forcing them to keep records? Is there any merit in saying that?
GetBusyLiving27 - you're having a laugh - Bethal keep records of the DEAD'S wrongdoings ? lolol - I didn't think even GOD did that - Wages of Sin etc ...
i mentioned at an 'encouraging' meeting with the elders (just a routine visit) that i thought i could improve my drinking habits, he said its a disfellowshipping offence and organised a commity hearing. in it he brought up that i had a history of heavy drinking??? i said i didnt, he said yes in your last congregation you had an instance you wanna tell us about that? i was 23 at the time i was baptised at 19 and he was bringing up something that happened when i was 17!! i told him the truth, i was driving, a friend of mine threw up. some one came to the house and saw him and we got a talking to by our parents and an elder... i said this wasnt even me but even if it was it was 2 years before i was baptised and i thought you got washed clean.
it was clear they were just looking for anything. which pissed me off but they were representing Jehovah so i tried to work in with them as best i could, what i didnt think of at the time was how the hell did he know that!! he was new to the area and the elder who sat in with our parents 5/6 years ago had moved interstate so how did this info exist?
i still wonder...
im getting pissed off thinking about it.
