At one time I wanted to be an elder or missionary, but after pioneering? for just over 2 years I had to stop for health reasons. Eventually it became clear that I would never be an elder or MS either. At that point I decided to re-educate myself and concentrate on my career, which has been quite rewarding.

I could have been one but wasn't willing to live up to the WT hypocritcal, phoney, "high" standards. Also it was very hard on my knees.

Never wanted to be an elder or MS. In the early 80's, I was learning computer programming when that was a skill that wasn't too common. I was only 13 or 14 and I remember wondering if there was some way I might be able to use that at Bethel. I had remembed my parents explaining Bethel as full time service. Me: "so, if that's full time service, then they don't do field service, do they?" I think my parents said no. Hmmm....
I did try auxillary pioneering once. Or, I should say I put in the hours for 7 months in a row, but they would never acknowledge me as an aux. pioneer.

As a single woman in the congregation, I was happy they counted me when taking attendance.
