Family of four murdered. Possible religious implications.

A family of four was found in their NJ home with their throats cut. The family made up of the man and wife included two young daughters. There are strong implications that this family was murdered over fanatical religious "disagrements" with an individual/individuals that the father had been comunicating with on an internet chat room. The family (of Egyptian heritage) were Coptic Christians. The father had been spending time on a Muslim web site/chat room engaged in "strong religious disagreement" with a Muslim participant. One of the last messages he received was a threat to hunt him down and cut his throat if he didn't stop making derogatory remarks about the Muslim religion. The police were told by members of his community that in no uncertain terms they "knew" that the family was indeed executed by Muslim fanatics. I just now heard on the news that there was a fight that broke out at the funeral home between relatives/friends of the family and several other individuals. That's all I caught of the newscast. I didn't hear what the fight was about but one could "assume" that religious differences was the catalyst.

Now folks I certainly don't claim to be a prophet, but based on current events and incidents like this I see an all out war between/among Christians, Muslims and Jews. It'll start out with the fundamentalists and fanatics on both sides then spill over to everyone else. The combatants will be determined by their religion, not the country they live in. I've already heard several members of the US congress openly say that the war on terrorism is indeed a religious war. No one in the US government would have said that 10 years ago. The religious flashpoint has for years been in Israel/Palastine but now Dubya has fanned the flames in Iraq, soon to spill over into Iran and Syria. It's coming, and soon.

I briefly looked over the site and it didn't appear that anyone had posted about the murder. If they had and I missed it - sorry.

*feels bad for making light of it*

Sorry chappy...I think the ball swung too far to the other side in this country. But hopefully people will start coming to their senses and find some kind of medium we can all live with when it comes to religious differences.

It's absolutely awful what happened to the family - it's horrific to imagine the home being invaded like that. Apparently the elder of the girls (the kids were eight and fifteen) was singled out for even more brutal killing because of a Coptic sign (a cross?) on her wrist.

There's trouble between Coptic Christians and Muslims in Egypt where the family was originally from.

It screams "hate crime" to me, but how many murders *aren't* hate crimes?

"It's coming, and soon." No disrespect, Chappy, but that smacks of antagonistic sensationalism.

The jihad against Christianity has now entered our homes.

On Sunday, the butchered bodies of the Armanious family were found in their home--bound, gagged and stabbed to death. Included were the father, Hossam, his wife Amal Garas and their daughters; fifteen year old Sylvia and eight year old Monica. Of particular significance is the way in which they were murdered. As well as multiple stab wounds in all of the bodies, each had his and her throats slit; in accordance with ritualistic Quranic law. Sylvia appears to have suffered the worst, at the hands of the family’s murderers. An additional stab wound was inflicted on her wrist, the wrist upon which a tattoo of the Coptic Christian cross appeared, and Sylvia sustained a long gash to her chest. Fred Ayed, a deacon from the family’s church, dispelled rumors that the family’s deaths were attributed to a robbery. Ayed said: "This is not a robbery. "We found all of the jewelry in the house. They didn't take anything."

What was the reason for the slaughter of the Armanious family? Almost immediately, one came to light. Hossam Armanious was outspoken about both his strong Christian faith and his disagreements with the tenets of Islam. He engaged in “heated debates” with Muslims on the web blog paltalk.com. During one of those chatroom sessions, Armanious was sent a response message that read: "You'd better stop this bull**** or we are going to track you down like a chicken and kill you!" It now appears that Armanious’ nemesis followed through on the threat. Armanious and his entire family are now dead.

Unfortunately and unconscionably, as of this writing only one news channel (Fox) is reporting this story in any depth. In fact, neither the alphabet soup networks nor the other cable channels have even bothered to include it in their online news sites. Although the deaths of Muslims around the world are reported as front page news by the mainstream media, apparently the death of Christians (ostensibly at the hands of Muslims) isn’t worth mentioning. And, of note, none of our ‘moderate’ Muslim friends have said anything. In this case, both groups’ silence says a mouthful.

One of the real concerns, as expressed by friends, is whether or not this may be a test case (designed by Islamo-fascists) to determine what the U.S. reaction would be, in regards to the killing of U.S. Christian citizens. Thus far it appears, with the blatant lack of concern by the mainstream press, that the terrorists may have their answer. The MSM doesn’t seem to care, one way or the other. Last night, the Golden Globe ceremonies were more important. Except for Fox, the killings weren’t even mentioned by the other major news sources. As the leftist-controlled MSM has been fighting Christianity for years, perhaps they see this as an answer to their Christian problem? I don’t know. However, I do know that if the massacre of the Armanious family is not strongly addressed and the perpetrators tracked down and brought swiftly to justice, all Christians will need to be fearful; fearful that our justice system won’t effectively deal with the situation and will [instead] sweep it under the rug. Will Christians, ultimately, be forced into hiding; or worse, denying their faith? If we don’t resolutely deal with this, now, there won’t be a later. It’s up to each Christian to determine what efforts he or she will make toward correcting this abomination. If we do nothing, our fates will have already been sealed. The jihad against Christianity has now entered our homes.

Speculation, nothing else. I've followed the Islamic vs non-Islamic conflicts closely for the past several years and that's just the conclusion I've come to. A large proportion of the Muslim world is hell bent on killing all of the imbecils (us) and don't give a rats ass if they die doing it. The only future they care about is lying around in heaven with the 17 virgin reward they get for their jihad. These are people that salivate at the thought of aquiring a WMD and dropping it at the doorstep of their imbecil enemies. Problem is that WMD are indeed available to anyone with enough money. Well, these people have lots of money and they're acumilating more every day. They have the will and desire. They have the people. They're aquiring the money every day. The "imbecil enemies" know these things and aren't about to sit around and just let it happen. That's why there's several hundred thousand "coalition" troops over there as we speak. Yea, it's just a major skirmish in Iraq and Afghanistan, (not to meantion Israel and Palistine). I don't see either side even thinking about throwing in the towel. What do you folks think; will things cool down in the near future or will it get worse?

Are you saying I should go back to the kh!?

Does it have a reinforced basement or bomb shelter?

Sensational? Yes. But were you antagonized? chappy
