If God is truly all powerful -enemies are an irrelevance

    Greetings to you all,

God's enemies, truly, are those who desire to make themselves his enemies. Anyone can do this. It is difficult for anyone to truthfully say someone or some "class" of people are God's enemies because the ones whom God considers his enemies are ones who have "made themselves" his enemies in their hearts. Since we cannot examine the hearts or the spirits of men, unless such gift has been granted to us, it is very difficult to honestly say "who" is and "who" is not his enemies.

God loves people whether they are his enemies or not. God does not "hate" anyone for being his enemy.. including the Adversary. He does not even take pleasure in the death of anyone wicked. Those who make themselves God's enemies are his enemies because they hate him.. not because God hated them. Therefore, when someone makes themselves God's enemy, they are only hurting themselves because in their relationship with God.. they are angry but God is at 'peace' with them. They are the ones hurting and angry and grinding their teeth, but God is still loving them and seeing how he may help them. Now, there are many people who profess to be God's enemies.. but God knows their hearts. He knows if they really are an enemy, or if they are really just hurting and lacking understanding. He knows why ones have made thesmeves his enemies and why ones have called themselves his enemies. He even knows if ones have TRULY in their hearts made themselves his enemies and who haven't although they think they have. So truthfully, God only knows. No one can "classify" who is an enemy of God, only God knows who individually is, and who individually isn't.

So I re-iterate that "God's" enemies must be very few. And HE decides who the enemies are, not us.

Wow, are the Dubs gonna crap if we all make it to the "other side"! ha ha lol!

I feel sorry for the dubs if they see us on the 'other side'. Maybe I should be feeling more sorry for the GB if they make it. The dubs may take it personally.

In the Bible "God's enemies" are most often the writer's next-door neighbour. "Intimate enemies" could be a fitting expression.

Most of the OT was written after the exile, when the Jerusalem returnees were involved in a power struggle with the "people of the land", i.e. fellow Israelites who didn't go into exile and were centered around Samaria (whence the insulting legends about "Samaritans", "Canaanites" etc.).

In the NT "God's enemies" are often people of very similar belief: Judeo-Christians, for the Pauline letters. The Pauline churches on one side and the Pharisees on the other, for Matthew's Gospel. Gnostic christians, for the Pastorals, Jude and 2 Peter. Etc.

More remote characters, such as the Persian or Roman empire, are seldom depicted with the same hate and contempt as those who were just slightly different. Food for thought.

I had a few enemy ants last summer. There were hundreds, maybe thousands that tresspassed and entered my apt through a crack around the window. I have a hard time believing that they were all my enemies. It was likely a few, maybe 10 at most who started the whole thing. Then, the whole pack just follows the trail of those few.

That didn't matter to me though. I just wanted them gone. Sure, i felt bad about the whole thing. I mean i always see them outside swarming over different places on the sidewalk, or in the grass. I kinda like watching them. I'm careful not to step on them, if i can help it.

Anyways, to make a short story shorter, i killed em all w diatomacious earth and chrysanthemum powder. Killed those ten or so enemies of mine as well, who started the whole thing. This god's life goes on. Not sure how this relates. Guess i'm the god, ants are the people.

try this, it's fascinating... next time you spot some ants walking in a line on your driveway or sidewalk, draw a line directly across their path with chalk. they will not cross it. i tried this with my son one day and he thought it was the coolest thing. i don't understand the scientific principle behind it, but it really works!
