Hello to all:

Just pondering over a few things I have been reading.

1.Annual corporate meeting Oct 6, 2001. With all the weird changes in the last year...RED LIGHT alert!

2. Since it was the 337 voting members who had the BIGGEST say so as to the changes last year in removing the GB.....

(And they are NON JWS)....what else will they or have they done?
The only reason they don't send the GB home, and it's not because they care about their elderly, is the fact without them as puppets up there, most JWs might wake up and SMELL THE KOOL-AID!

3. I read a scripture last night that truly fulfills what has happened in the last year. It is Psalms 79:1!

"O God, the nations have come into your inheritance; They have defiled your holy temple; They have laid Jeruselum in a heap of ruins."

Ohhh yes! Exactly! And now they are scurrying around trying to fix it! Cover it up is the exact truth.

BIG BUSINESS is all that is left and just a matter of time before it is "fully exposed"

Friends! Let that 'worldly' corporation go! The middle man is your down fall. Remember "Do not put your trust in nobles where there is NO salvation."

Instead remember you have ONE LEADER! And MEDIATOR MATTHEW 23:10.
It is to him you MUST turn and take his yoke. It is not burdensome as manmade laws are.
But do not see, walk out and then ALLOW yourself to be yoked again in slavery under man. (another form of godly devotion)

I thought the official "voting" members were the 8000 some-odd anointed. Of course they have no real input, and vote-through what the GB tells them to, but I could have sworn they were the "board"

If they're non-JWs, just who are they?

All of the 300-odd voting members of the corporation are JWs. Don't know where someone got any other idea. Now it is true that the vast majority of these voting members are Other Sheep, not anointed. But all are JWs.

Hi JustaMom: The voting members of the Watch Tower corporation are long time JWs, and the numebr has been normally around 500. But some do not attend the shareholder meeting, and vote by proxy, so the number 337 you mention is only of those that might attend or remember to vote.

The only way one of these would not be a JW is if that person left the religion. But, I have no doubt that they have a means to remove or buy-out the share value, which is likely kept at a low nominal value. The share holders simply own stock in a 'Holding Corporation' that operates the subsidiary corporations.

The only other way a Watch Tower asset may be held by non-JWs is where they own stock as a minority shareholder, and the stock is actually controlled by proxy. For example, the Society might turn over cash assets to be invested through an agent, such as Citibank, who then invests the funs on their behalf, and the Agent has proxy power, or power of attorney to buy, sell, trade, move assets, or hold net proceeds until reinvested. - Amazing

Yes, the GB are no part of the corporation therefore gave up any voting rights. But who is to say that other anointed aren't part of the votes. Its who had the most money$$$$at the time.

10$ a share when it started and you know folks saw a way to make money through religion and big business.
So, many non jws bought into it as shareholders and still have it.
Although the arrangement has changed since then, those that started out still have a say so.

Hi, Mom... love to you... and peace!

It appears that some here do not know the true makeup of the shareholders of the WTBTS. They do not know that the corporation had an IPO way back when and shares went for $10 a pop to whomever, and that it wasn't until later that such practice was changed, but that by then many NON-JWs held shares and such shares have been passed on in inheritances, etc. Of more worthy note, of those that ARE JWs... they are no majorily of the 'anointed'.

But... folks don't want to believe truth, Kimmie. Rather, they CAN'T. It would be too much for them to bear, to actually WAKE UP and realize that they have been misled from the 'get go'... bamboozeled into giving their lives, their children... and most noteworthy... their 'gold'... to build a 'golden calf' that they have 'called Jehovah'.

It's would just be too much for them to bear to come into the LIGHT... and 'see'. But, well, you keep on 'letting you light, shine', my dearest sister in Christ. Perhaps one days, folks will concede to have their eyes 'opened', painful as that bright light might be.

Say, why don't post the PAGE NUMBER from the PROCLAIMER'S BOOK that tells them the 'truth' - LOL!

Page 228 par#2-page 229 will give you some info.

"the societies charter set out a shareholder arrangement in which each aggregate contribution of $10 (us) entitled the contributor to a vote in connection with selection of members of the board of directors and officers of the society."

Yes, they changed it in 1945 as you will read, this IS how it started out. ANYONE could buy in.
