No. I can't afford the rates!
I'm mostly a Christian, but the headship thing is kinda strange in our house. I think it's one of those guideline thingies.
the wife is pregnant right now, so she is the queen bee as far as this little drone is concerned!
CZAR
i try not to, but In admit that I still make innappropriate comments even on this board about women - they are lovely though
unfortunately I have seen some xJWs who still treat their wives in that same controlling I am the head of the house manner.
It's sad to hear that, Sassy. I haven't been around exjw men except on this board. I will say that I think some of the wonderful, truly loveable but knucklehead guys on this board do still treat women like objects as they make a lot of comments about women's anatomy, age, weight, etc. I believe it was Hillary Step who once said that he thinks being a JW as a youngster can arrest people's adolescence: the results being that some of both genders still act like teenagers or college kids when it comes to sex roles and sexuality.

Stilla, that took courage to say and I appreciate you saying it. I think it's appropriate to say that you think women are lovely, it's tasteful and shows respect. I think men and women are lovely by the way. Humans are beautiful creatures.
I'd always thought that I had dumped the WT subserviant woman thang until the kids went to school and Her Ladyship went to uni.
Then I really had to come to terms with what was a major role reversal. My job was down the pan, HL was flying high and I had a bad case of the sulks.
After about 3 months of wallowing in self-pity and acting like a spoiled kid, my youngest child commented in tears that "Daddy isn't the same anymore".
From that point on I realised that my sulks were my problem and that I was actually suffering with a major case of jealousy of my lady's success combined with resentment at the reduction in attention that I was getting.
It wasn't an easy thing to work through. I found old beliefs in my psyche that I thought were long behind me. I was good at mouthing off about equality, but deep down there were some serious convictions that had lain unchallenged all the time HL was in her housewife role. I resolved to make changes.
Once I'd accepted that the way I felt was my problem and no-one else's, I felt empowered to make changes for the better. I read all sorts of stuff. I read about the Peter Pan syndrome and how women had a choice as to whether they were a "Wendy" or a "Tinkerbelle" and that while men thought they wanted a Wendy, they always found Tinkerbelles much more fun.
From there on in things improved dramatically. HL got her BA degree and then a few years later announced that she wanted to go to Bath and study for her Masters in the subject of Inclusive Learning. By this time I'd put aside all that submission crap, but more importantly, so had she, even though she had never been a dub.
We've both changed. It's been a difficult road, but it's been worth it. She expresses a wisdom in some things that almost leaves me breathless with admiration at times. ..she got her MA too.
So yeah, I'm not aware of my being patronising towards women. I hope that I never am that way again.
Englishman.

Vallie, you little. Was that a patronizing remark?

She tilts head towards Val's shoulder and swings beautiful hair for emphasis, pokes out bottom lip in a pout and says, "Buy me sumpin' . "
